So sorry to hear this news, Matt. I remember your Dad and you following Martin and I through the Swinge and we went airborne and your Jenneau just floated across everything. And our day off Portland when between us we caught, I think, 54 cod. Brilliant! My sincere condolences and don't be a stranger.
  3. An acronym only has to sound vaguely plausible.
  4. Sorry Stuie, I'm a simple soul as far as body parts are concerned, I was using it as an acronym, Total Integrated Tube System..
  5. Indeed Rob, although I already have a flush kit fitted, just got to fit the tits to the backplate.
  6. Bugger! The axle on my Indespension trailer has let me down, fortunately when I got back into the drive. Damned expensive as the one for the Hallmark trailer is not standard issue. I posted my problem on the Warrior facebook page and a nice gentleman in Middlesborough said he had one brand new which was not required by his client. He delivered it today, en route to St. Austel delivering an Orkney 19 and I saved myself £160. Result! Now I just have to fit it.
  7. Trouble is,, a lot of that is becoming familiar.
  8. I don't think it will make a cock of difference unless it is enforced, as always.

    Reel help

Just saying, 8 reels serviced, one needs further surgery, very pleased with the result and all as smooth as silk. Thanks guys for your advice.
  10. Without appearing nurdy, they're called paraprosdokians. And very funny and clever they are.
  11. Yes Dicky, I am indeed in Carterton and trail down, usually heading out of Christchurch. If you want a day, give me a shout, I'm in the phone book. Why don't you join the club and be a member of the best one on the south Coast? No launching off the beach for us! Thanks for the nudge Martin, in Kent at present.
  12. Living in Oxfordshire, I always trail and used to do the club trips to Portland and Burnham on Sea. I still have two or three trips to Portland each year so would be happy to stretch a bit farther. I'll check dates.
  13. I usually launch from Portland slip, easy peasy with free parking and quick access to the open sea.
  14. I could be up for it, let me know dates.
  15. I go out wrecking on my Warrior, what is the venue for this exped?

    Reel help

Thanks for the input, I have tried ebay but they are either abroad and want about £14 postage for a £5 tub of grease or they only have small tubes. As I will be going to the States again before too long, I think I'll leave it until then and make do with your suggestion until then. I'm sure it makes no difference but I will feel better using the recommended stuff.

    Reel help

Right chaps, I need some help with reel maintenance. I know we have a reel meister in the club for servicing etc but, as I live in Oxfordshire, it is not really a practical option although I have used him in the past and a very good service he provided. So, I'm going to have a go at servicing my reels and, being an engineer, feel I should be able to make a decent fist of it. The only trouble is, I'm having trouble sourcing a decent grease like Penn Precision in the UK. Plenty of offers from the USA, Poland, et al but the postage kills it. I can get little tiny tubes but what I want is a tub as I have quite a few reels to do. Anybody got a source?
  20. Get some offcuts of Marguard (used for aircraft windscreen), just type marguard into ebay, use the old windows as templates, it cuts reasonably easily. Alternatively, there are a few firms (one in the midlands) who will cut it for you. Terry.
  21. Pardon! I heard that! A very Happy New Year to you all, may your worms be gobbled with extreme enthusiasm during the coming year.

  25. Thank you all, a good day as I continue waking up on a regular basis thus far. This year has been a bit light on the fishing front due to being very busy with other commitments both pleasurable and of a family nature; no complaints, just saying. Looking forward to seeing you all in the coming months.
