    Mudeford Bar

On the one hand I'm perhaps a bit relieved we didn't take a mooring in Xchurh . I suppose this can only add pressure.......... and cost in Poole. Trailing after all.
  3. Full set of freshwater fishing gear for sale due to emigration. Inventry on request but includes two hand built carp rods (HM 60 long range 2.5lb) which I suspect would make excellent bass rods. POA Wedger

    Launching Wick

We'll have a go at trailing first, once the hitch has been adapted. Leccy winch and promised a big hand winch for backup. Concerns me a bit about retrieval in poor weather as she is quite heavy. We'll just have to 'suck it & see'. (Steady Mike )

  12. Do any of you guys go potting? Just as a bit of a twist alongside the production of 'Sea Magnet'. I'm sussing out the costs and practicalities of producing salted pot bait. This really has come about due to the ongoing freezer costs and storage space for frozen gear. Salted produce has only one fixed cost, that of the salt. The storage is more versitile too as you can park it almost anywhere. I'm given to understand that salted pot bait is better as it lasts longer, but I've also been told it's better for lobster anyway . Who knows what? and does anyone wish to try some when it's ready? Sikaflex??

Jack, Just a thought chap but have you considered using 'Stormsure' to fix the 'bass spine holes'? Its great stuff........ I use it all the time for fixing our neoprene waders, and much cheaper for these small jobs as it comes in tiny tubes. T

    Antifouling

Charlie, I'm sure you will know, but for the benefit of all, eye protection and a fume mask are a must with sodium hypochlorite. It will eat anything organic in seconds.....including you........ If it works on your boat bottom you could obtain the neat stuff from an agricultural supplier. Hypochlorite is used as a dairy sterilizer and is as cheap as chips. Wedge

  19. Especially for Kam, You had asked about licenses for collecting crayfish. I hadn't realized this but you use the same form (fish removal 2) FR2 to apply to the Environment Agency, as I have used for years for other fish removals. You may need to read the fine print to see if this form can be used by non-professional individuals, but I think you will be OK. There is no charge . Basically you are applying to use fishing instruments other than rod and line. I do this for using electric fishing gear for fisheries stock surveys in lakes and rivers, and to remove fish for environmental management purposes. You FIRST need a permit from the holder of the fishing rights. If this is rented, it would be wise to clear all matters through the landowner as often crayfish are not specifically covered in a rental arrangement. Pacifastacus leniusculus (Signal Crayfish) is the one you want. Hope this helps.

Has anyone used 'Versatape' for the initial bond on a small boat keel band ? Mike, You might know of this stuff from the motor trade. It'll stick a wet breeze block to the ceiling.............
