    Dinghy wanted

Hi all Does anyone have dinghy/tender for sale about 10' any condition considered cheap as possible. Ta. Colin
  4. It was only a few weeks ago that we were trying to decide how to spend some of the clubs funds. I would like to propose that we as a club undertake to design and produce a leaflet/poster with nursery areas and size limits. These would then be distributed to all marinas, tackle shops, chandlers etc. in our areas. The club logo would be prominent and would show that we are serious about conservation and that we are prepared to put our money where our mouth is. Colin
  5. Also the biggest fish isn't on the list. These damn computers never get things right do they. Colin
  6. We were out for a short spin after spending the morning doing paper work. Good to see Little Sal. Not a bite but we did have a great cup of coffee. Who cares about the fish we were on the water which is what we love. Colin
  7. Keep at it stue you will soon start bagging up. Don't forget to practice with the compass 'cos that still works when the electrics go down. If you are out on Sun give a shout we should be out if we finish the painting in the hall and dining room. Colin
  8. I tried it with rag in the past but it didn't work they just froth up and go into a mushy mess. Colin
  9. Before you salt your lug lay them on several layers of news paper and then prick each one several times with a baiting needle( or similar tool) then let the water drain out. Put them on fresh dry paper and salt each one, they will shrink up and go fairly hard (shut up Jim!!). Then wrap them in fresh dry news paper rolling them into 10's just like Black lug. They will keep quite some time like this or you can freeze them. You can cast this bait as hard as you like without blasting them up the beach. Good luck Colin
  10. Good luck Stuie on your first trip out on your new boat enjoy it. Colin
  11. I am with Towergate Marden cover for Elbe to Rochelle but had to ask. Had a quote from Porth Cawl similar prices for same type of cover . Saga was not as good cover. Colin
  12. Happy Birthday to you both. Pete you are nearly as old as me now. Colin
  13. We will be up for this too. I've only done wrecks on charters which is totaly different to driving yourself, so need to learn from the experts. Colin

    Rig Bags

Also found if shads/jellys get wet, they need to be kept seperated so individual bags are good. Dave Dave I find that if they DON'T get wet they DON'T catch anything Colin

    Fog Caution!

I would add also make sure you have backup equipment. As we proved we needed it brand new radar went down, brand new horn went down. I have on board 2 steering compass' and a hand held compass, electric horn, a manual horn (lung power, being a trombone player I can out blow most electric horns ) 2 plotters, 2 fishfinders. Mind you I also learnt to keep things more tidy as I couldn't find the manual horn straight away when needed!! So I say back up and back up again. I was also lucky to have a very good crew who did all the right things at the right times. Thanks Rob gold star for you. As for going out hmmmm will have to wait and see. Maybe not. Colin P.s forgot to say I also have an echo max radar reflector which goes up on the radar mast under the radar but nice and high, which Rob had to remind me to hoist. another gold star for that man

  20. Bob I know you are busy these days but if I can't get the radar working proper again can I give you a shout please. As a matter of interest Boblin has one fixed compass (when i screw the bracket back on) and a hand bearing compass, also there is a spare compass in the safety locker with flares, first aid kits, life jackets and spare warm clothing. It's a pain putting all this on and off every trip but has to be worth it. Colin
  21. You are welcome Rob just a shame it wasn't one of the better days on Boblin. As Rob said the Radar packed up I hope it is just a fuse but we decided not to play with it in case it blew anything else. Mind you we were fated as 20 mins after the the radar went the brand new horn I fitted last week also packed up. Never mind there was still the mouth blown horn. We had two plotters running and eventually got the hang of keeping close to a straight line. Thanks Rob for all your help today next time we will find more fish and hopefully not have the fog. Colin
  22. Rob you have a PM Colin
  23. Well done Bob great to see you back afloat what a great fish to get you started again. Colin
  24. Our biggest highlight has to be taking delivery of BOBLIN2. Also having a great season this year which included a fantastic trip to Portland and putting Boblin through her paces on the return trip with all the excitement of St Albans race. Bobi catching a new club record, Colin catching a new club record, lots of PB's. A great family day at Studland. Sharing a liferaft with Jim and of course making new friends in PBSBAC, and not forgetting my old mate Pete Snr netting my PB cod on the second attempt. Colin and Bobi
  25. Happy Birthday George have a great day. Colin and Bobi
