  1. Myself and Geordie Brian made the most of the still weather to fish Durley tonight. Got down after work with minimal gear to head out into the sunset After recent successful Plaice bashing trips I was ready for something better so big baits down Nothing Nada Not a sniff As you see it was like a mill pond but unfortunately no drift to speak of Geordie Brian Brian had a small plaice and pout As the sun went down I was heading for a blank but some small pout came out to play The fishing didn't set my world on fire but the calm conditions and the clear night sky, good company and the promise of summer really made this trip a Lofty midweek bonus
  2. I'm kayak fishing in the evening from Durley. The netters have had a few bream but still getting herring mostly. Looking for my first bass tomorrow.
  3. The hard grafts paying off. What's the big screen in the dash? Gps/ fishfinder?

  6. It was like a mill pond with zero wind Met up with Si and our new chum Barto Was slow fishing today.Pin whiting to begin with and then nowt, Picked up with the flood, more whiting,3 tiddler Plaice 1 keeper for lunch tomorrow Then a double shot of plaice and pout It all went a bit poutastic for an hour We all called it a day as the sun set Good luck to all tomorrow
  7. Taking the yak out Friday off Southbourne . On 6 if anyone's around Lofty
  8. That's the sort of info I can use. I had lots of tope last year but none over 5 lb. A chum pulled a double on his yak and thats my aim As for anchoring in 240 feet of water.... No chance. I had the hook down in 60 feet but let out 200 . I use a big dive reel but do hand over hand it once it's free then reel in the slack once the hooks on board
  9. Standard boat 4.7 without the rudder Ocean kayak prowler ultra 4.7 xt
  10. I don't reckon I'd need to be much nearer than I was to get a slick out . There was also a ledge halfway between the bay and the head that made for "interesting" paddling even on that mill pond of a day. I wouldn't even attempt Kimmeridge unless there was a clear day with zero wind forecast or maybe a light northerly.force 4 keeps me at home or best in the harbour . That flounder comp was at best a 4 maybe 5 gusting 6 and that was horrible in the harbour.I'm totally up for tow / lift but remember my yaks nearly 5m long. The comments above are why this is such a great club to belong to and the shared knowledge is priceless to this newbie .
  11. I'm already mulling over the idea of going in the summer to target Tope from St Albans head. I reckon if I can get a good slick running down towards the overfalls I might tempt something interesting out and on my hook. It will all rely on conditions though as I've only got myself to rely on and it can be very hairy there.
  12. In case I take a dark passenger along Always liked his boat name and very fitting for my pointy weapon of choice.
  13. I'm pimpin my ultra kayak. I've got some hull stickers of my call sign "slice of life" and a couple of others but I'd like to put some from our club. Do we sell them and what sizes and how much etc. might be worth a run of them for the agm and other merchandice? Might also like a tshirt or two. Cheers Lofty
  14. ??? Ken Clayton. An old school Poole angler. I'm sure lots on here know him.?Don't know your reference sorry
  15. That was Kens effort. He has a handheld gps too. Garmin I think. It's compatible with overlaying on google earth rather than just the track.
  16. 7.7 miles total Nice when you don't go solo as chums can take action shots of me braving the towering sea
  17. Ken arrived chez Lofty at 8, we loaded up, bought bait and made our way through the mist to Kimmeridge
  18. Me and a chum are going today.
  19. "They had also stolen some kayaks and paddled over to Rositers where the police arrested some suspects" Wonder if this is what the scrotes use to rob boats? Did they pinch them or did they bring them with them because you'd need paddles too!?
  20. Love the boys toys. There's more kit on that console than the space shuttle. Me and Geordie Brian use two tin cans and a bloody long bit of string. If you ever need crew me and just about everyone else on here are up for it. Have fun .Lofty
  21. THE OK CLASSIC FISHING TOURNAMENT

  23. As a side to the security. I worked at Sunseekers for 10 years and made some good friends. One chap, a marine sparks,Tristan Cooper has gone on to specialise in marine security . His company is Dolphin Marine in Poole. I know your not really supposed to "advertise" on here but they fit some space age security on the big Sunseekers and if you mention me I'm sure he'd do you a good deal. Sorry if I've broken protocols but it's a serious matter so I'd give them a bell http://www.dolphin-marine.co.uk/ Ask for Tristan
  24. Look out for those pots
  25. Time to get my two man kayak prepped up .
