  1. Tough luck, I hope that the bill is a small one, unlike the cod you'll be catching in a month or so .....
  2. Sorry to see this Paul. Hope she goes to new owner soon. Chris
  3. Two nice days forecast for the weekend! What can go wrong?
  4. I've just received a statement from the AT re seals in The Severn and The Teme. Basically, they are against the seals and moaning at lack of action from the EA and Natural England. Whilst I can see the argument about the seals reducing fish stocks I can't help but wonder that they are playing into the hands of the antis with such a stance. Perhaps I am being a bit too sensitive about this. What do you think? Chris
  5. The weather is excellent up to Friday then goes tits up for the weekend only to recover on Monday? Alright for you retired types but us wages slaves a bit frustrating
  6. Well and a few more fish. With the snotty F5/6 NE wind forecast to ease off as the day wore on, we started the day off up the Solent fishing for hounds. We had 4 bites and one hound, first of the year, about 7-8lb. A quick stop at Sconce, where we caught our first mackeral of the year (mid-June, for goodness sake) Next off to The Bridge for a spot of softy bumping, result one bass about 2lb then off to The Ledge for some breaming, result a bream about 1.5lb first chuck, which broke the rod ... We had another about 2.5lb and few bits and pieces but otherwise fairly slow. Nice to be out tho'
  7. I'll let you know after I've been out this afternoon ....
  8. It's the Round The Island Race, might be a tad busy until about 10.
  9. Quick hour on The Bridge at midday, 2lber first drift then nothing for the rest of the session. Still, it's the first, last year the first bass was caught on 7th April ....

    Wembley

Ahem, you guys are talking about the mighty Watford here. For those of us born within 100 yards of the hallowed Vicarage Road ground you are talking treason
  11. Yes, well done Hull, it takes it all down to the last match On the face of it Hull have the harder task on Saturday, what can go wrong? .... Please leave some beer there for we go over in 3 weeks time!
  12. Oh dear, a couple of weeks on then?
  13. At last! According to the Milford wave and sea temp sensor we have had 9 for the last two days. Time to dust off the bream and bass rods for the weekend, methinks.
  14. Yer cheeky boy, I was wondeering how things could have changed so quickly

    chat room

Sorry, I saw the little red 1 on chat and wondered what it did, now I know ....
  16. With water temps up 1 degree in 3 days, another 6 days could see them hovering just under the magic 9. The Ledge and The Bridge beckon methinks.

    Robbery at sea

Tee hee, not much chance of that happening in the bay ....
  18. Rubbish fishing boats, not a rod holder in sight
  19. Well I think we'll have to agree to disagree on that one, other than wrasse on lures, now you're talking
  20. Well, we made it out of Weymouth yesterday. As predicted sport was very slow, but at least everybody (bar me, grr) caught a fish. Biggest a 5lb turbo, rest were plaice around 1lb. Anybody thinking if going up there in the near future, one charter boat caught 10 turbo at anchor, best two about 20.

    Sunday?

Saturday still good, at the mo.....
  22. Small world, there certainly can't be two of me tho' ....
  23. Dave, you rude and abusive, can't imagine such a thing ....
  24. Another Watford supporter (my home town, I was born in Vicarage Road hospital). And Hull 0 Watford 1, bring Cardiff on ....
  25. I was supposed to be fishing with Chris Caines on Thursday/Friday but weather continues to be dire. However, Sat/Sun looking possible and we've managed to rebook Chris, so I hope that some of us get out, at long last. Fishing is, as you'd expect, very slow with water temps at 6 instead of the usual 8/9 for this time of year but still a few brill and turbos coming out with odd plaice, water colour has been been poor but may buck up a bit with the forecast N/NE winds. Fingers and almost everything else, crossed....
