    New Trailer

Friday called PJ and we decided to pop down to Wick and move Neo from her old trailer to the new one. I couldn't have picked a worst day - torrential rain ( BTW: The flotation suit needs re-waterproofing ). New trailer is heavier to pull around than the old one but easier to pull as the wheels are 16 inch ones instead of the small ones I had on the old trailer. Swapped Neo over onto the new trailer and pulled her up the slip only to realise that the back of Neo was half way up the set of rollers and one of my trim tabs was now broken ( Strong plastic glue required for the strut - any tips ? ) Put trailer back in deep to float the boat off and then couldnt get the trailer back over the dropoff at the end - PJ's 4x4 entered action to save the day. ( My civic not having enough weight to pull the trailer over the drop-off - this "feature" at Wick is going to be interesting in the summer...... We moved the front post as far back as it would go and boat sits nicely on the trailer now. Returned home in horrendous, torrential conditions and I noticed traction was easily lost pulling the trailer ...... Many thanks to PJ for the help. Today :- Weighed the jockey wheel and found I had 185 KG of downforce - no wonder the car was stuggling for traction ! - Persuaded my son to come down to Wick where I moved the axle forward, re-adjusted the brakes and adjusted the rollers. Boat goes on and off the trailer with a slight shove now and towing feels so much safer - although I have to get used to the larger turning circle of the trailer. It is big enough to take a 590 as well - hmmm
  5. Ah, ha - just read that on the other post. Just posting my new trailer pics - launching is a dream now
  6. Looking very impressive Adam, I bet you are well happy with her. PS: What did you do with Gordon ?
  7. Gordon, The pics of Out of The Blue going through the Swash only have Adam in them. Where did you go ??
  8. Kam, Its not that fantastic as it seems, as most flights on ryanair are a couple of quid or less and the tax / charges form the bulk of the cost.
  9. Looking very nice Adam, especially like the surround around the steering column. I will be down Wick on Saturday adjusting my new trailer. Maybe see you down there.
  10. I'll agree with that advice. We opted for a Sony in the end and well pleased with it. My sister has a Panasonic plasma screen ( awesome picture ) but they are prone to screen burn and I think they use more power as well. There is a general trend towards LCD, even in the larger screen sizes. Another thing - if you have Sky then HD is superb quality to watch BUT there are hardly any channels available on HD yet, so IMHO ( and I think Nipper's ) it is not worth the

Paul, That was the logic behind Bob connecting the outboard to the battery 2 directly as opposed to the common terminal of the switch. ( plus being able to use the power tilt whilst switch is in the off positions ). However, this means the outboard will always be connected to a battery. Could do with an isolator switch - but the 1 - 2 - both switch is really an isolator switch anyway..... Also if Battery 2 ( or whatever one the outboard is connected to ) then it will mean that battery 1 also could become unusable ( as you can only select in effect 2 or both ) The only downside of connecting to the common is failure of the switch could cause a problem - unlikely in my opinion, although I understand it happened to Bob. Get a good switch

Terry, Bob's article on the other site ( as in Coddy's site ) has a slight error in it. I think originally Bob connected the outboard leads to the Battery 1 connector and now has them connected to the common connector. The article on coddy's site has a diagram with the lead from the outboard connected to the common terminal on the switch but has a note referring to the lead from the outboard being connected to the battery 1 connector. Connection of the outboard to the common connector is the way to go IMHO ( I recall having a discussion on the pro's and cons with Bob a while ago ).
  14. Would have joined you and brought Neo along. But stupid tow bar shop went and got the wrong tow bar ( after I told them it was a new model civic as well).
  15. No containers - however, heard on the radio today that stuff from the Napoli ( biscuits, nappies and BMW bits ) were washed up along Highcliffe and Bournemouth today. Apparently they are a little oily.
  16. Here - I think ( Seasonal Staff )
  17. Tomo, I should have thought of that when looking for a trailer. Bought a new one now, so next time perhaps.
  18. But actually an "Urban Legend" - completely false....
  19. NEW YORK - Idaho resident Kathy Evans brought humiliation to her friends and family Tuesday when she set a new standard for stupidity with her appearance on the popular TV show, "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire." It seems that Evans, a 32-year-old wife and mother of two, got stuck on the first question, and proceeded to make what fans of the show are dubbing "the absolute worst use of lifelines ever." After being introduced to the show's host Meredith Vieira, Evans assured her that she was ready to play, whereupon she was posed with an extremely easy $100 question. The question was: "Which of the following is the largest?" A) A Peanut An Elephant C) The Moon D) Hey, who you calling large? Immediately Mrs. Evans was struck with an all consuming panic as she realized that this was a question to which she did not readily know the answer. "Hmm, oh boy, that's a toughie," said Evans, as Vieira did her level best to hide her disbelief and disgust. "I mean, I'm sure I've heard of some of these things before, but I have no idea how large they would be." Evans made the decision to use the first of her three lifelines, the 50/50. Answers A and D were removed, leaving her to decide which was bigger, an elephant or the moon. However, faced with an incredibly easy question, Evans still remained unsure. "Oh! It removed the two I was leaning towards!" exclaimed Evans. "Darn. I think I better phone a friend." Using the second of her two lifelines on the first question, Mrs. Evans asked to be connected with her friend Betsy, who is an office assistant. "Hi Betsy! How are you? This is Kathy! I'm on TV!" said Evans, wasting the first seven seconds of her call. "Ok, I got an important question. Which of the following is the largest? B, an elephant, or C, the moon. 15 seconds hun." Betsy quickly replied that the answer was C, the moon. Evans proceeded to argue with her friend for the remaining ten seconds. "Come on Betsy, are you sure?" said Evans. "How sure are you? Puh, that can't be it." To everyone's astonishment, the moronic Evans declined to take her friend's advice and pick 'The Moon.' "I just don't know if I can trust Betsy. She's not all that bright. So I think I'd like to ask the audience," said Evans. Asked to vote on the correct answer, the audience returned 98% in favor of answer C, 'The Moon.' Having used up all her lifelines, Evans then made the dumbest choice of her life. "Wow, seems like everybody is against what I'm thinking," said the too-stupid-to-live Evans. "But you know, sometimes you just got to go with your gut. So, let's see. For which is larger, an elephant or the moon, I'm going to have to go with B, an elephant. Final answer." Evans sat before the dumbfounded audience, the only one waiting with bated breath, and was told that she was wrong, and that the answer was in fact, C, 'The Moon.'
  20. Jack, I just searched on Google and found it used, so cut and pasted it. ( Didn't even know it existed until you mentioned wanting one ! ). Terry, "correct spelling, punctuation and grammer" -
  21. The dealership for those is actually by the refuse tip. Friendly lot there as well ( Stateside Marine ).
  22. Rich, Thanks, I might take you up on the offer. Only need to get something like 6 panels ( no posts needed ). B and Q will do for me.
  23. As in 17
  24. Rich, Out of interest, would fence panels fit in / across your truck ?
