  1. thanx newboy I can give as good as I get lols charlie....
  2. Hi everybody! Thanks for the welcomes! I was just hovering around the board this evening, waiting for some results from the comp, (which I'm SO sad to have missed! ) and I found these posts down below the bottom of my screen! It really cheered me up as I'd been feeling a little insecure about how much a solo female was really welcome amongst you... Thanks guys! I had asked a few people to ask around for me if anyone would let me 'crew' with them today, just for the experience, but got no responses. It has been suggested to me in the past that I can be too pushy when I really want something... so I was more discreet this time... and ended up missing the comp!... Ho hum... What is a girl to do??? Next time, (and there always is a next time), I'll just hassle everybody till someone takes me seriously! LOL... And if anyone will let me crew and help me gain some more experience in the meantime, I'm available as crew 24/7. Just phone or email me with at least a few hours' notice! LOL I'm still waiting to see some results posted, but CONGRATULATIONS to the winners in each category... and I hope a good day was had by all. Cheers! See you on Thursday... Rosemarie

    Hi All

I have seen your site whilst browsing and I must say it looks very interesting and well laid out. I will be fishing on malcolms boat the True Blue on 4th dec and staying overnight on the front in one of the hotels.(can't remember which one). I do alot of fishing from swansea and cardiff boats plus we venture over to minehead on dave roberts boat the Alykat. I am chairman of the Carling Wales sac which was set up the beginning of this year due to the politics of the wfsa pms. we left on mass.I see you have same sort of problems. I would be interested in speaking to mr M.Diffey who I believe is your secretary. nice to see another Diffey fisherman.being an unusual name to say the least. anybody wanting info on the welsh coast only needs to go to the gower rockhoppers, you'll find a very informative site once logged in. If I don't see anybody on the 4th then I should see you on the poole species comp next year.we had two teams in this year but they did crap, al the best charlie....
  4. hi adam its a swiftech m-198 trad

  7. had no plans to go billy, woke up without a stella head, looked out the window asked ryan did he want to go and that was that.
  8. caught east side of portland, very close in on rag.
  9. went out with pout lips (son of wrasse kisser) this morning, the plan was to go for whiting but there was a very big easterly swell,so we went to billy's wrasse spot he was talking about the other day,we had 39 wrasse in total incuding corkwings, the best ballan was 4 lb 15 oz caught by me,ryan also had a pollack,we left when we used our
  10. Hi Maverick Dad (wrasse kisser) sent the forms off on friday,so you should get them soon,we are both looking forward to fishing your comps next year,we went out today but the wind picked up so we came back early.
  11. Welcome to the Pleasure Dome. Enjoy. BB
  12. and Sammy makes 7, thank you for that bob f. Dad says that all you need to do is ask and he will give you marks to fish. Sharing is what it is all about.
  13. Good wrasse Paul, nearly a new record. Had the RNLI pairs comp on Flamer !!! today. Fortunate to win. I was first with 12 species and 266 points, my partner Rick was second with 9 species and 213 points so we won the pairs by a mile. Plenty of fish about though. I had Whiting, Pout, Poor Cod, Dogs, Bull Huss, Ballans, Cuckoos, Corkwing,Mackerel, Scad, Pollack and Sandeel. Not bad for a 6 hour comp. Regards, BB
  14. starting to kit out my shetland i have got a folding anchor as a spare what is the best style anchor to have as a main and what length-diameter chain do i need. how much rope and what type should i use thanks
  15. I need to insure my boat now that it is (almost) ready for action, but also for the time it is on my driveway on a trailer (with wheel clamp). Can anyone recommend an insurer. One problem I have is that I have been asked what the maximum speed of the boat is, and I have no idea. It is a "Rana 530" 17 foot - semi planning hull - powered by a 50hp Merc. Apparently there is magic speed of 14 or 17 ? (mph ? or knots ?) that dictates the premium rate for the insurance. Any advice on this subject would be welcome. Geoff Hall (Sundowner)
  16. Thanks - I'll give it a crack... I got the impression from the Tackle shop in Poole that bass fishing was restricted in the harbour but I'm not exactly sure where the boundaries lie - any thoughts?
  17. Hi, Any areas in the harbour when fishing is restricted? Anybody know of good location for flounders as they've always managed to keep a low profile.... Regards, Grant
  18. I am just deciding to arrange a day for potential customers to come and try theese boats out , I have 2 demonstrator boats one with a 60hp 4 stroke Yam the other with a Merc 50hp. I can hire the local marina so there are no problems with tides it will also make boarding the boats easier. I am sure after a few laps we will produce enough waves to bash our way through ! I wanted to ask any members for their comments , I realise you are all miles away but do you think it wouuld be a good idea ? Thanks guys Dave
  19. Hi Bob , if the big wave lapped up the rear of your engine it may have snuffed the engine through the exhaust , this would have been nothing to do with the high tech electronics on this engine. Just a thought ! Cheers Dave
  20. i forgot to put the url sorrytech webpage
  21. yes this site has been very helpfull to me in the little amount of time i have been on it but that other one has got loads of tech heads that can tell you all sorts of crazy things you need to know i found the outboard forums especialy helpfull.
  22. i found this website while serching for help with my new purchase there are thousands of posts full of help on all aspects of boating, and if you add a post guarentee its answered within 30 mins
  23. now i have got my boat i want to get the equipment i was looking to get a affordable chart plotter a fish finder and vhf anyone got any advice on this, i have been told not to get a plotter but to just get a gps what are your opinions. also is there any restriction to how far out you can actually go apart from your own limits. thanks
  24. being a mechanic by trade i learnt all about the guidelines manufactures follow its trying to find a happy medium of reliability against performance. you could build a 2000cc engine with 120bhp like a zetec and would never put excessive stress on it but slap a few mods on it ie lightening larger valves different cams etc and you could get as much as 180 200 hp but it puts a lot of stress on the engine thats when things either break or need very high maintainence. also an engine can be designed to produce very high torque figures and still only produce low bhp.
  25. boy racer i doubt that very much ill be more nervous than the people i take on her
