    Bits n bobs

Saw these bits at TR Fasteners today. Looked interesting for use onboard. All stainless. The bags are £1 a go, 2 pieces in each, unless more shown in pic. Above and below pics are the same - I like the look of these for tie down points in the bile / lockers on JoJo. Get a cable tie or cord through that loop just lovely! This is a pic of the non- stainless board as there was something infront blocking the stainless one!!!

    Maccy Cam

Just having a bit more fun with my WaterWolfHD after trying it on the Turbot of the Shambles. This is a bank off Dartmouth, i couldn't get through the 1lb macs and Whiting from robbing baits dragged for turbot! Anyhow, here is some bait gathering footage. The deepest darkest drops are 35m and the shallowest 18m. Rob https://youtu.be/cC_Jp6S7wiY
  3. Bearing savers are better! Loading the hub with too much grease can unseat the rear seal, possibly then letting in water.
  4. Shouldn't you have 4 bearings?
  5. You planting up Ellen?
  6. Enjoy!
  7. Nice work Mike!
  8. Good call Dave! It's surprising that they aren't compulsory.

  11. Far far west for JoJo!
  12. Make sure the boxes aren't sealed - which I'm sure with cables in and out they won't be.
  13. Hydrogen mate - static can ignite it!
  14. Yes, I'll epoxy paint it and anything else that needs it!

Welcome! I hope you catch more from the boat than the shore. If not, crew for someone else!! [emoji1] Keep an eye out for boats asking for crew, there is often someone!
  16. As a record I think it is fine as long as not a mini species, as discussed before, a fish of a few ounces is too hard / impossible to weigh aboard (we would be down to drams!) I'm sure we could use a recognised measurement conversion (for skate) to get a weight, as per the tables Club approved for shark weights.

    Outboard Engine

I work to the principle of one decent well maintained engine is better than an ok one and a spare. (Kiss of bl00dy death now for me next week!!!!) Think about fuel, if you main engine is 2smoke premix, maybe get a backup that is premix ect so you can share fuel. Assuming fuel wasn't the reason you broke down in the first place.
  18. Well Dave, aren't you the resident Skate Expert? Are you going to try!?!? Mike: if it is a skate, maybe whole or half LSD is the bait of choice. Not sure much else would touch it!
  19. A warm 50 is easy to pull start. I had low water in a cell of my battery a few years ago, started fine but an evening on the bass drifts soon flattened it (ESP with bait pump running). So, I pull started it for every drift, probably 15 times! Starting a cold one, would be a different story I imagine. If in doubt, carry a charged jump pack (I used to and only ever used it to start someone's car that was blocking the slip!).
  20. Well done!
