Today I have been working on the new logo for JV:

Another 12 hr day at chez Franklin for me today. There was a lot of discussing, more discussing, measuring and the we bloody went for it!!! It does seem a shame to break up the veneer with some instruments, but I guess they all go towards making her a great fishing platform! We cut many a hole, slot, opening, drilled holes and even some floaty gel coat white stuff done (I would have missed the smell if we hadn't!). It is looking great and some changes to original plans were made but I'm pleased and it's not even mine!!! Action: Now, post paella, a beer!

Weigh it in perhaps!

Ok, so I'm fitting a Lowrance sound hub - radio, MP3 noise maker to JoJo. I chose this as JoJo has limited space (some what) and the soundhub is all tucked away and controlled from the plotter. Anyway, I thought I'd bench test it before install to see if I was to keep the speakers supplied in the kit etc. So, connected it up, power to this power to that - dead! Called the supplier, they said I had tested all they would expect and to perhaps call Navico and ask. So I did, we went though everything (nearly) and all seemed ok. They suggested I sent them the unit. But as based in Romsey, I could pop it in. As I was collecting materials for JV out that way I did. I was offered a drink and to sit and wait whilst the tech fired it up on his rig. All ok! Bu99er! We at least the issue was eliminating the new unit! So, I also found out, if the nmea2000 network must be powered and until the unit is seen by a plotter etc, the power light won't light up!! So back home I did some reading and found that the NMEA network is powered independently on the HDS units and not as a pass through as per my boat. So in conclusion, it is now working, and now I need to install it! I got it up and running with a bit of fudging on the bench. I thought if I post this, someone struggling can use google and hopefully find it useful! That is all! Rob

Careful Charlie! Adam didn't inspire me, just delayed me by several months!!! Though, I had delayed myself by a couple due to the ruddy cold weather! Yes, waterproof, has a seal all the way round and clear lid. The back just has the blades sticking out. I'm making a bus for the back.

I am splitting the power distribution, with one fuse box under the centre console and the keeping the other under seat one. New: Nice thing about this is that when a fuse blows, the led next to it illuminates!!!

Well, all this helping on JV has made me neglect JoJo. Serviced a few weeks ago before the "Turbo Time" on the Shambles and I also had fitted a water separator due to these rumours of water in fuel due to ethanol content. It was the ideal time as the bulb on the fuel line was failing. New rod holders too on the stern: I had been planning a rewire for a while and measured this and that and bought the bits. Was going to make a loom then install, but I am now just getting in with it! Cutting the old: Remove underseat fuse box:

I'll bring the hole saws!!

Another productive day on JV! If I don't ever get to sand fibreglass again I'll be happy! Sanded most things and produced a cloud of itchyness. These areas were flow coated and look very smart! All looking good and is rock solid! I guess cable running will be the be the next task indoors, along with mounting dials and toys!!! (And who doesn't like to mount a toy!) The weather was kind and it allowed the first of the major outside jobs to be started! Grinding off the old blue in the roof! Pain of a job, numb hands, but now done! I'm still finding bits of blue and orange after my shower!!!! Some parts were flaking already that made it easier!! Oooooo, just look at that!!! (Masking tape around edges in pic, hence lack of sharp lines!)

IUCN / Red lists are all very good, but are only a guide. It's quite frustrating!!!!!!
-
This is all just information. There seems to be no clear list of what can be caught and kept!!! Even on the shark trust website it's not easy to see what is / isn't protected. As I'm sure there was a protection for Porgie Sharks from commercials, but can't find details.
-
Silver eel - not sure.
-
I think undulate was protected from commercials and not RSA's, but now that has been lifted. Bass in nursery areas is not all year round, 1st Nov to 30th April no restrictions.
-
Enjoy Kam! I knew that "turbot" was going to be mentioned!!!

Why? Did you spell it wrong? [emoji2][emoji2][emoji2]
