  1. I think I tried that email address earlier this week, it failed.
  2. I would have sanded the bulk heads better if I had known!!!!
  3. I'd go 5kg Bruce and 5+kg of chain (length depends on link size) and 10mm rope. As for aux, I'd rather have enough faith in main engine not to rely on one. I guess you would need the correct size & bracket to make it useable. I assume you would still steer with the main unit assuming staring hasn't broken), so you want it deep enough to be in the water below the hull, but not too low to get potentially swamped. Rob
  4. I think I read they "mid-water pair trawl" for the spawning bass.
  5. There is no let up on the bass yet: Trawlers in Orange :0(
  6. This momentum gathered needs to be kept moving!!! "Commission to adopt measures to protect sea bass stock (19/01/2015) The European Commission has announced a package of measures aimed at averting the collapse of the declining sea bass stock. In the first instance emergency measures will be implemented to ban pelagic trawling of sea bass during spawning season which runs until the end of April." http://ec.europa.eu/information_society/newsroom/cf/mare/itemdetail.cfm?item_id=20107
  7. Alan, Try trailertek, often a wheel and tyre is the price of just the tyres locally! https://www.trailertek.com/acatalog/13_inch_wheels.html I have had great service from these guys, either by popping in to the shop (Micheldever) or online. Rob
  8. Great Alan, welcome back to powered boating!
  9. And even the hard to reach places got a coat:
  10. Can you reduce the top prize and spread the prizes out a bit more? (Though I know is I at solely your comp)
  11. You lot need to catch more fish! Now stop detracting from this thread!!!! [emoji3]
  12. We have already had the discussion about the day bed of course Matt!
  13. It looks like the boat was hit by another or more likely ended up on rocks. Either could have easily displacedn the cowling.
  14. The story is about a birth being filed but the video is amazing footage of a thresher hunting. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-30747971
  15. "Hired help" - wow! I thought I was just help! $$$$
  16. Marine Traffic app marinetraffic.com
  17. The ship has re floated today on the high tide, I saw it from Warsash today, it's huge!!! They are making very slow progress to Portsmouth as the ship is still at 45degrees!! Progress is .6kn according to the track of one of the tugs:
  18. Hi Alan! Are you stacking, pontooning or trailering the 175? It 175 is BIG! Even the 165 makes a number of other 16ft boats look tiny! Will you be using it locally or Soton Water? As I hear there maybe a new "feature" there!?!?!? Rob
  19. Maybe Brian with a NE wind and flooding tide!
  20. I am sure you have all seen the news. What's interesting for me is the change of direction the ship took. Below is an AIS track of the ship, looks like it made an intentional turn on to the bank. Maybe it was going down? Steering failure turned it to port?
  21. Rob

    Happy Christmas

    Yes Pete - 8th!
  22. Rob

    Happy New Year

You to and everyone else Brian! Tight lines and calm seas for all!!!!! Rob
  23. Lunker! Well done Dave!
  24. Well it all works!! We headed out and could turn left, could turn right! Bonus as the first test was navigating the bar(s) at Christchurch! Lovely day but no bars of silver. Or livebaits were made no so live by what I thought was cuttlefish. However, Alun managed to get one close enough to his boat to see they were squid. Cracking (of ice one slip) day on the water, stunning!
