Hi all experts who keep their craft on wet moorings I may have a chance of a wet mooring for my Warrior but will need to do the dreaded antifoul treatment. How high does the line have to be? Do you have to add any other lines? Not having done this before any help would be appreciated. Coddy

Hi Rich I would have loved to join you but I am fishing the area all day Saturday and Sunday that week-end. Due home on the Monday and off to the USA/Canada on Tuesday so unable to find the time. If you want some inside info on how it's fishing I can call you on Saturday & Sunday. Coddy

Hi all I too launched at Wick and meet Paul and others there. We were one of the boats that left early and headed to Xray but it was equally quite apart from a doggie and mackeral. It was some car park on the ledge and from what I could see it was a similar situation on Southborne Rough! So we headed in towards Hegisbury for some macky which we duly picked up ready for the freezer and also had loads of small pollock, which all went back. The wind started to get up towards at about 1 ish and with wind against tide it was a little bumpy so headed towards Highclife for 1/2hr before calling it a day. No bream for us but a great day to be out on the water. Coddy

Well done Martin Hope others also had a good day. Christchurch was a car park as was Southborne from what I saw. Coddy

Hi I have a 320GTi which I obtained from Trago Mills at a great price as it was a recon model direct from the factory. A nice reel which I have yet to put to any real test as I have not been wrecking for a long time. Coddy
-
Hi I can confirm it is good stuff. I tend not to look after my reels well as some of the salt deposits show, however I used a 1ltr tub, from an old ice cream tub, and added x2 capfulls (20ml) correct mix is 15ml, and left the reel overnight. All nice and clean, I did strip the reel down first as it needed lubrication as well. Wonderful stuff, just got to find an old spray bottle now to keep on the boat. Coddy

Hi Alun I hope this helps. ----------------------------------------- Hi Dave I assume they've got charts or a plotter map of the area? Depends an awful lot on the wind direction. East or SE builds up a big swell at the entrance to the Carrick Roads and makes it pretty much impossible to get out into the bay. If this happens, then the Stanwood next to the North Bank buoy is always worth a go - pollack, mackerel, gars on the drift plus good sized wrasse and conger when anchored. Only anchor on the flood unless they enjoy buying new ones!!! ;-). Or go up river to Trellissick (Turnaware Bar)and anchor in the deep hole behind the bar for bull huss, wrasse, bass and rays. If they can get out into the bay, there's a number of wrecks within 2 miles of Pendennis Point (Epsilon, NG Peterson, Caroni River) - all shown on the charts. Pollack, macks, gars, wrasse (ballan & cuckoo), conger - usual stuff really. If it's blowing a westerly, then they can get shelter behind the Roseland Peninsular. Plenty of reef to drift, or a large patch of sand/gravel that we both found recently. They could be very adventurous and head across the bay to the Manacles for big bass, but it's a pretty scary place and for neaps only I'd say There's always the chance of bass, bream (black, gilthead, Couch, Pandora) and mullet in the many creeks around Falmouth and St Mawes. Very light tackle and rag on the float or light ledger. They can launch from the Watersports centre in Falmouth (

One morning a husband returns to his lake cabin after several hours of fishing and decides to take a nap. Although not familiar with the lake, his wife decides to take the boat out. She motors out a short distance, anchors, and reads her book, enjoying the peace and quiet. Along comes a game warden in his boat. He pulls up alongside the woman and says, "Good morning Ma'am. What are you doing?" "Reading a book," she replies, (thinking, "Isn't that obvious?") "You're in a restricted fishing area," he informs her. "I'm sorry officer, but I'm not fishing, I'm reading." "Yes, but you have all the equipment. For all I know you could start at any moment. I'll have to take you in and write you up." "If you do that, I'll have to charge you with sexual assault," says the woman. "But I haven't even touched you," says the game warden. "That's true, but you have all the equipment. For all I know you could start at any moment." "Have a nice day ma'am", and he left . MORAL: Never argue with a woman who reads. It's likely she can also Think Coddy

If it is any help, I watched a speed boat chew up it's prop this lunchtime (Sunday) and some of the crew got out and pushed it into deeper water! Another repair for the prop repair shop me thinks! I would allow a minimum of 1.5hrs before or after low water before attempting to get over it. Wind and air pressure can make a lot of difference from the predictions. Coddy
