Thanks Bob, I will look on the map to see the best route from here. Will need to check tide times as well as it seems best to have a bit of water around this area! Regards Dave

Hi Adam Thanks for the info that's really good and the link. Hope to get out on Boxing Day, not sure where yet but long range forecast looks promising! I think Christmas Day might be pushing the luck just a bit too far. If you will be about give us a shout. Coddy

Hi all, I am think ahead now but what are the problems, if any, cost etc. of launching at wick? Can you launch normaly i.e. back the car and trailer down and shove off the trailer? Parking? Any restrictions? Channel dangers? Wind direction for sea state? Tide times? Thanks for any help Coddy

Hi Kam, The important thing is that the engine MUST be charging a battery all the time it is running. If you disconnect the alternator/charge circuit whilst the engine is running it will blow the alternator electronics! Exspensive repair!!! If you are using an official battery change over switch, this keep continuity onto a battery all the time uless you switch it to the off position, then of course the engine stops! I use a normal car battery to start the engine, cheap and easy to obtain and a leisure battery to run the electronics. It was the other way around when I got my boat but as explained earlier, the electronics pulled down the car type battery after 2 days continual use. Regards Coddy

Nice one James So what is the new boat to be? Warrior, Quicksilver, Raider, Sunseeker Good luck in looking for what you want Regards Coddy

Just a note of warning! You need to ensure you get the correct foam as some break up if flexed! There are many types about so it may well be worth asking a boat builder BEFORE you start and DON'T fill it too much if you do go ahead as it does expand some what and you could do major damage! It also gets VERY HOT! regards Coddy

Hi Thought I would add a fly to the chat, check out the current draw on a sonar/fishfinder. Due to colour and dual frequency they do take quite a drain from a battery. If you want to see what your unit draws and you have lost the handbook check out the company's web site. It has happen to me when fishing on two full consecutive days and all the electronics stayed on until we were traveling back to the slipway, I lost everything but it took a while to find out why. Good thing I have a compass mounted on the helm. Regards Coddy

Hi Guys I am sorry I could not stay for the results but I could not wash my boat down due to the wrong connecton for the tap on the slip! So had to get home in some sort of light to swing the boat back on the drive. I would like to thank Bob & Adam who kept an eye and ear out for me for my first trip around the harbour. Well done the winner what a fish! I am glad I let my little one go back now, but at least I caught my first flounder. Sounds daft I know but they are not targeted on the East Coast. Enjoyed the day and looking forward to many more to come Regards Coddy

Well as I am now a "Shark Chaser" and lost my name sake to a couple of the guys recently I might just sneak down Baiter slip with "another Warrior" Sammy to wet her bottom for the first time since the move! So if you see me disapearing the wrong way give us a shout as we might fall asleep waiting for all these GIANT flounders to appear! Thanks for the cuddle in the shop Bob! (might as well start a new rumour) Regards Coddy

Well done Adam & Bob I can see my forum name will have to change soon Better than sitting in a traffic jam as I was! Regards Coddy

Hi all As I was board sitting in the airport lounge waiting for my plane to get ready I thought I would buy a mag to read. (Yes Mad Mike they did teach us to read north of london ) I noticed the following bits of information Poole Harbour Commissioners are cracking down on boat owners who try to avoid paying annual harbour dues. 50 owners were to receive summonses in the Small Claims Court for non-payment. Question: Do we with trail boats have to pay harbour dues? Christchurch have revised plans to remove 1,000 cubic metres of silt from the mid-harbour bar and a similar amount from the moorings near Tuckton Bridge. This is likely to be approved after councillers were reassured they will not harm conservation or open the way to larger vessels. Lastly a new web cam has been installed on the Dolphin Quays apartments. You can now get an instant check of the conditions before starting out. see www.dolphin-quays.com Regards Coddy

Hi Charlie I think if I did that I would be sleeping on the boat for ever! All my fishing gear would be down in the harbour and ............... ouch! But at least we bought her a car today (Sat) but can't pick it up till next week-end so it's anpther week of a hire car! Coddy

Hi Mike Is the world now safe? Will Wonder women ever get dizzy spinning around? Has Superman got a packet down his shorts? Do old men really drive that slowly down a dual carageway? Do we really care? These questions need to be resolved before the next exciting episode Coddy

Hi all As you are all about to get off to bed early so to be fresh as a kipper in the morning I would like to wish everyone the best of luck and may the biggest bribe to Rich and I (and of course Martin) win! On a friendly note I will be available to assist with launching and I will bring a long rope to tow trailers out if you want it. This will allow you a quicker get a way to your favorite spot. Good luck and take care out there. I just wish I was out there with you ............. maybe next year Coddy
