Hi again I have just been reading some interesting stuff about props and cavitation etc. on the Steel Developments site. Reading Jimbobs message I would suggest you get it looked at as soon as possible as the damage you can do is VERY expensive! http://www.propellerworld.co.uk/Steel_Developx.html The above link makes interesting reading if you are into props and how they work Coddy

Have any of you tried Steel Developments for prop repairs? Web site is http://www.steeldevelopments.co.uk/index.html I have had good reports from a number of people who have used them but I have not had the need yet! Coddy

Hi That is interesting about the keel rollers as not all of my keel ones touch the keel when on the trailer for transportation, however, when winching the boat onto the trailer the keel rollers that don't normally touch come into play and assist in getting the boat to sit square and on the outer rollers correctly. This sounds more complicated that it is I used nylon rollers previously on a Seahog and you do have to make sure it is strapped down well and when launching a good fixing for a rope to hold it from just sliding off the trailer. I would keep one rubber roller on the bow area of the keel so any vibration is asorbed. I have found you have to go into the water more with the Warrior than the Seahog so plenty of waterproof grease around the rollers and piviot points to keep everything smooth. Adam, ref Gorilla tubs, I live near Bedford but travel all over the UK. Regards Coddy

Thanks guys & gals It was a bit cheeky I know but you don't find out anything uless you ask! We don't talk about house hunting here unless you want a mouthful!! Estate agents want you take you money for no work and then say you need to reduce the price to help them sell!!!!!!! SO we told them what to do! New agents came around tonight saying price was good Once we sell here we can go for real hunting for property. Will rent a house if needed so we will have the upper hand for a change Well thats the theory anyway I am looking forward to meeting you guys down the pub .......... all those drinks you will be buying me ...................... Perhaps it will be me buying the drink to get some numbers out of some of you when you are most vunerable! Will keep you updated as it happens Coddy

Hi Malroy Thanks for that. Seems a triffle expensive but I am sure it works well Don't think the FPO will appreciate me spending that sort of money just before our holiday or house move! Coddy

In case you are wondering ................... Warrior price for 150 or 165 s/s keel band

Hi, How many posts do you need to change from one status to another? It seems I have been a 'Dogfish Lover' for ages. They may be the majority of fish I catch but still ............ Coddy

Hi Bob No I was waiting to see how another chap was going to fit his own keel band to his 165. He used stainless steel strip. Said it was a bit of a b****d to bend and burnt out a few drill bits but someone suggested to try Tungstan bits which helped! Onced drilled and countersunk, he used s/s screws using stikaflex sealant and secured into the keel. It looked ok to me, been looking into the price of brass ........... hmmmm need another bank loan! However just ound out that his boat started to get hailine cracks along the hull near the strakes. Took it back to Warrior who have just declared it terminal!!!! Warrior have agreed to replace the boat FOC even though the warranty has expired. Now that's what I call customer service. Coddy

Hi Guys and Gals, Thought you might be interested in this web site which shows ships in heavy seas. http://www.tv-antenna.com/heavy-seas/ Do you think you would go out in weather like this???? Enjoy Codfather

Hi Malroy I checked out the indespension web site but could not see the "Sand Skipper" even after a search. May I ask where you obtained yours? Many thanks Codfather

Hi Guys & Gals I have purchased a large aliminum radar reflector from ebay but I need some ideas on how best to fit it on the bridge on my Warrior 165. I will need to lower it for towing, so it will need to swivel like the radio arial but I don't want it falling when traveling at sea. Anyone any ideas? Thanks in advance Coddy

Hi Bob I have two batteries but only use one, which is charged by the engine, to start. The other one is a normal car battery 85 amp/hr to run all the electronics, lights and bilge pump. The later is being changed so that the pump will run off the starter battery as I only use this if any spray comes over the top when travelling. I had all the electronics on for both days aparantly the Fish finder uses the most power, unless you are on the radio all the time, and I should have sitched it off when at anchor. You never stop learning I am, however, going to get a batery change over switch so if needed, I can top up the charge on the electronics battery. I know I should use a leasure battery but the boat came with this set up and as it is about 1 year old and the battery has 3yrs guarantee left I am not going to go out and get a new one just at the moment Coddy

Hi May I make a suggestion that if you can get some 'Dry Ice' it will remain frozen for a least 2 days without any problems. We had some this week-end and it kept everything frozen, we used one of those polystirene boxs as well. Codfather

Hi Guys It seems you all had a cracking day out on the Solent with some superb fish. I too was out but the other side of the IOW. Saturday we had 54 fish between 3 of us, as this was a species type hunt in all we had 12. Tope, Starry & Common Smoothies, bream, Tornback, small eye rays, dogfish and a tompot blenny Sunday went out again but sea state not so kind Only 22 fish and 7 species However it was good to be out on the boat AND fishing!! Only downside my electronics battery went flat as we were coming in which made it interesting without a sounder into Chichester harbour! Regards Codfather

Hi Adam My 165 has the engine start battery in the console and my back up inside the cuddy behind the console on the seat area. Not pritty but it works fine and was installed by Warrior! I just don't have a change over switch and only use back up battery for everything except starting. As Duncan suggests, if I get a flat battery I just have to swap terminals over from one battery to the other ........ no problem May be a bit differant in a rolling sea Coddy

Hi Adam If the offer was to me, very many thanks but I will be out on the Solent myself at the IAC Southern Fish In which is at the Eastern side of the Isle of Wight. If you facny a change skip down this side and give us a call on the radio. We will be on channel 8 but as I have dual watch it will be on 16 & 8 I hope we ALL get plenty of fish and the weather does not spoil it for all. Regards Coddy

Hi Guys Don't forget that hard back crabs work just as well for smoothies as long as they are not too big Cod

Rich You just replace the whole jockey assembly with one with a blow up wheel. It does hang down a little more but not by much. As I said it is a simple matter to move the boat around on the trailer, it is also worth checking the hitch weight (this thread keeps coming up) as if it is too heavy any wheel will sink Regards Cod

Hi Just remembered where I saw the LED lights, new Compass booklet. Also on their web site, they also do other cabin lights as well Cod
-
Adam Latest idea is to use LED's like used in the head lights when beach fishing Low power consumption and bright light Seen these for sale on ebay and in chandlers (another bright idea, swiched on or what, bit flash I know, beam of insperation) puns intended Codfather
