Hi Guys I had a set on my Seahog Hunter with a 40hp outboard Went very well, got on the plane quickly but found the prop cavitated in turns when there was a bit of a swell. It might have been me as I did not have powered trim. Been thinking about a set on the Warrior 165 but read somewhere hat Warrior did not recomend them on high powered versions as it could become unstable at high speed Do get the correct size for the engine if you do get a set. I off fishing in the Gulf of Mexico just off Sarasota in Florida next week-end want a trip Mike? I will change a few rules however, 1. The biggest fish will will always be mine (I am the skipper after all) 2. You must pay your own air fare, I am not THAT rich! 3. Crew must ALWAYS make the drinks. (more time for the skipper to fish of course) 4. If I go to sleep no waking me up to tell me you have ANOTHER fish! Otherwise you can crew for me anytime I am down your way Regards Coddy

Hi Guys, I am helping organise a charter wrecking trip on Tuesday 7th Sept out of Langstone on a new Catermaran. I am not sure how many places are available at the moment but if anyone is interested let me know. Cost approx

Think I would have preferd the blonde myself ................. Coddy

Why not change the nipples to all the same size? Then you can use the gun at any time without having to change ends. "There is nothing better than a well greased nipple fitter" Try saying that when you have had a sherbert or two Regards Coddy

Hi Paul I would have thought that "playing with wrasse and King rag" was getting a bit sad, you lot in Poole seem to catch them not "play" with them Joking apart it seems weed is a problem all around the coast as we had loads last Sunday when I went out with my son on the East coast near Harwich. Regards Coddy

Hi Charlie Nice to see your son in the mag with that 45lb+ tope Well done to Sam Regards Coddy

Hi James Have you checked the anti-torque plate fitted to the outboard? Basicly it is a fin which you can move to reduce/remove the torque of the engine/prop. It may have moved, become loose or even droped off! Check all the bolts on the engine mountings are tight. Last alternitive is to slow down so you don't notice it Coddy

Hi Newboy I suspect the pump has two wires, a feed supply and a return wire. Normally these are Red & Black or Brown and Blue. Conect the +ve supply to the Red or Brown wire from the fuse, (you have fused it havn't you) and the Black or Blue wire to the -ve supply. When the float lifts with the water it makes a switch and starts the pump, when the water drops it drops down and turns off. If the boat is on a wet mooring you need it connected to the battery all the time otherwise I would include an isolation switch. Hope this helps Coddy

Adam Have you got a 2 stroke lawn mower? Mix a bit with your outboard petrol, it wont hurt the engine in any way. Back in the days when men walked in front of cars with a red flag, some people may recall this ( ) if you had a new engine you always use to add a few shots of RedX oil in with petrol to help lubricate the parts oil could not reach. Speeway racing engine always used Castrol R oil in with the petrol. So to answer the question, water the mix down with neat petrol and don't worry anbout a slight smoky exhuast Regards Coddy
-
Hi Duncan I would use the fuel up in your current engine, HOWEVER, I would ALWAYS start and warm up the engine on the standard mix them swap tanks over whilst the engine is running. If you do not use it all just top up with neat petrol to weaken then oil ratio even more. Excess oil in a cold 2 stroke engine can be a pig to start. if you have ever had an old 2 stroke motorbike you may recall the problems! Regards Coddy

Hi Adam Suggest you check out the american Ebay They use these all the time and I wouls think it would be cheaper to import at the current rates of exchange Coddy

Hi Adam If your trailer is like mine with bearing savers, long metal tubes sticking out from the hub, you have to remove these first to gain access to the split pin in the casalated nut. I have yet to remove mine but I did try one side and it did not move but freinds have told me you have to tap it side to side to remove as it is a frition fit. Suggest a squirt of release liquid or deisel. You can get a handbook from rollercoaster web site http://www.indespension.com/fromparts-home.htm Regards Coddy

That should have been x3 5gallon tanks Too much sun has got to me Coddy
-
Hi all Just got back from holiday, 2 weeks in the sun Same I could not take the boat on the plane with me as it was perfickt area in Crete to launch and recover. Anyway to the question I ALWAYS carry x3 gall tanks, I have a 60hp 4 stroke and average a tank every 20 to 25miles depending of sea state and speed. Use to have only two tanks on another boat but it was a 40hp 2 stroke and did about same distance but was slower and boat had a diferant hull against the Warrior. I keep a record of miles travelled on every trip and amount used, it is working out approx 0.80 to 0.90ltrs per mile Always carry more than you need as the old adage says 1/3 to the mark, 1/3 for the return leaves 1/3 spare in an emergency. My thoughts anyway Regards Coddy

Hi Duncan You are right, it is on the boat side and I dont take off the radio although I switch it off at the panel and the set. Got to fit the isolator switch soon Thanks will try vaseline ............... now wher is that special tube? Coddy
-
Hi guys and gals I was checking the electrics over and noticed I have started to get a bit of corrosion appearing on the power lead pins of the radio. As anyone any good ways of slowing/stopping this? It will be a matter of time when I will want to use the radio and it will not work so I feel it is better to get it sorted out now before it happens. Regards Coddy
