Thank's for that Lofty...will be on their case first thing Monday....well between sea trials that is... Tomo

Thank's lads.........will post the video's of the sea trials soon... Yes it was along time coming, but the design and development involved, being the first 11 m hull complete with Hydra- foils and a pair of 300 hp Yamaha outboard engines, was underestimated by us all. With the hull designer, foil designer along with the foil manufactures being in South Africa, didn't come without it's own challenges to. Still the main thing she's here now and..............on Budget!! ...but I did buy some extra toys from Simrad to play with... Surprising how quick that can add up to a few quid Just been reading the post about boat alarms...... and decided, after a chat with Charlie...it's a must have on Manta Ray... so off to find the kit..asap. Hope to be sailing her around to local waters in about a weeks time, subject to the finalization of trials and correct prop selection. At last I will be out fishing again soon....it's been a year since I sold Just Purfick and I've been like a duck out of water... Tomo [/img]

Hi Mate, If you want to reweld I can do it for you, and then give it a couple of coats of cold galvanizing paint ( Galvafroid), which should be just fine, as it is an industry accepeted standard for welds on galvanized steel. PM me if you need it welded. Tomo

Hi Matt, I fish from my punt....... heavy maggot feed over groundbait.....catches everything from Bass, Seatrout, Mullet, Flounder to all species of coarse fish.... Tomo

There always used to be a demarcation quite near the harbour entrance above which you needed a rod licence. I know for sure when I fished Stanpit ( for Sea Bass ) that a rod licence was required, as had it checked by EA person, so I am not so sure you have been given the correct information ? Hi Paul, ....You are quite correct....if in doubt contact Davis Tackle. in Christchurch..they issue the permits and Nigel is totally conversant with the laws and bylaws appertaining to the area, which are dictated by the water company. Anywhere above the demarcation line in the harbour is subject to a EA licence...so I have been informed and this is also defined in the Ringwood Clubs members book. Tomo

Your obviously fishing the wrong swims.. Recent 2lb 2 oz Harbour Roach plus a bag of 1lb plus fish. Can provide co-ordinates for a small fee... but a lot of members know where I fish, cos they stop and chat on the river Tomo...... [/img] [/img]

The EA are great!!! They just love over populating the local rivers with tame otters. It is that over populated that have ripped the tidal stour (amongst other sections/rivers) to shreds. Nearly all the proper fresh water fish (barbel/carp/big chub/big roach/bream shoals) have all been eaten. Oh how I love the EA Hopefully it wont be long before the Eastern Europeans find a way of catching them...I'm sure they have a recipe for them...... Its taken the ballifs years to stop their plundering, only to be replaced by the most efficient underwater fishers on the planet!!! and tame at that..... If you want to otter watch come down to the bottom of my garden.....I've given up fishing for barbel, as I've got a family of 4 very tame otters living there... Tomo

And still is, I might add. along with huge bream and carp to over 35 lb...not to mention mullet to over 8 lb....bass to 14lb....seatrout to 15lb....salmon to 30lb...........I have a punt and have fished it for over 40 years.....Well worth the money.... One thing though...there are no day tickets to fish the harbour...unless you have come to some agreement with the water company, only yearly permits to fish from your own boat.. There are 2 day tickets available, and then only if your are a Ringwood member. Remeber All species are catch and release.. The water is baliffed every day from a boat. Tomo
