Looking at the Navamn 5500 plotter. The difference between the internal and external antenna are about $100. Is it worth the extra dosh, or would the roof on my boat hinder the internal one receiving information?

That was Headington in Oxford. I was there (a very young Newboy ) when he put it up. If I remember right he owned the cinema and had a planning disagreement with the council, so he put the shark up in his roof as it required no planning permission, as a protest. Same here, I promised missus and the kids I'll take them X'mas shopping on Sunday......

I leave my electronics onboard if I will be using the boat again in the next week or so and that neither my missus or I are away from the house.

To add pictures of your boat to the members' boat section, you have to contact the mods. To put a pic on your thread, there are 2 ways, first you can either attach it, using the File Attachment at the bottom, just above where you click to Add Reply. The other way is to use the IMG tab above (when you are replying), but the .jpg must be on the net somewhere.

However, may not be CE approved, ie, imported. Then again, as long as you have you licence and the main unit on display, no one is going to do a detail search of your boat for illegal h/h.
