That'll be the Councils way of preventing people who work in Poole using it as cheap parking (

    Side rails

Have a word with Jim (Small Fry).
  4. I've got twin batteries on mine, 1 for the lights and electronics the other for the engine. Instead of using an "Off-1-Both-2", I fitted a VSR, makes it automatic. Purchased the switch from Merlin Equipment at Cabot Lane (just down the road from you). As the boat lives on a trailer at home, I decided not to fit isolating switches.
  5. I didn't have them fitted to my Warrior as I felt they were a waste of money. I couldn't see any reason to ever go onto the foredeck.

    baiters slipway

Gary I've only ever had to wait for one boat. But I usually go out weekdays, launching at 09:30 and back in about 15:30.

I seem to remember reading somewhere (possibly on this forum), that I you phone the council they'll come and clear the sand.

    HELP PLEASE

Ben What safety equipment have you got? The Boat Jumble would be a good place to pick up bits and pieces and as Neal says, meet a few members.

    HELP PLEASE

Hi Ben Nice boat, quite a few members launch at Baiter, I tried it and didn't like having to wade everytime, so I now launch at Cobbs Quay, although it's quite expensive.

    HELP PLEASE

We're in a bit of a quiet spell at the moment, but things should start to pick up shortly. Where will you be launching?

    HELP PLEASE

Hi Ben Welcome to the Forum. A good bunch, losts of knowledge and really helpful. I would suggest that you try to get out with a few members on their boats, it's the best way to learn. What sort of boat have you got? Can I also recommend joining the club, the AGM is on 1st April. Just one comment, try not to use all Uppercase, it's not so easy to read, and can be taken as shouting.

    garmin 3210

Mark It's strange that it's not showing the correct date and time. According to the manual, date and time are obtained automatically from the Satelites atomic clock.
  19. I entered the MMSI number into an Icom M421 today for Derek (Sea Sparkle), it was very straightforward. Follow the instructions on page 14 of the manual. DOUBLE CHECK that you've got the number correct before you press ENTER to store it.

We're not picking on you. We're just afraid to be your friend in case you're a jinx
  21. Mike It might be too late, but have a word with Martin (Maverick) about the rope.

I'll ask my son-in-law, who repaired his boat, he did a brilliant job at a very reasonable price. He was near the railway bridge on Sandbanks Road, but I think he's moved to new premises, I'll try to find out tomorrow.

    Plaice rigs

Here's another, which is a variation on "Tom's Shambles Plaice Rig". Depending on the depth of water I sometimes add a small watch weight above the spoon.
