  1. As I said before your hull looks identical to mine. Sounds to be behaving that same as my boat was before I fitted Bennett trim Tabs. She was lifting the bow and squatting at the stern, due to all the weight being at the back. After fitting 18" x 12" trim tabs she leveled off and planned. I bought mine from Magic Marine at Broadstone. Due to rot in the internal timber I've advertised my boat as a renovation project, if it doesn't sell in a couple of weeks I'll be stripping everything off and selling the bits, so might have a set of Bennett tabs going cheap.

Gordon That hits the nail on the head. It's about time we had a govenment with a enough backbone to stand up and say the same. If the European Parliament doesn't like it, TOUGH!

  5. Funny how the Russians can't confirm it's anything to do with the aircraft carrier and tanker, that was surrounded by the oil during refuelling operations!!!

Thanks Adam. I think my short list has just got shorter, at the moment it's looking like a Warrior 165 with 75hp E-tec, (although this could change).

Adam Thanks for that. What would you consider to be the ideal hp for a Warrior 165, generally 2 people and fishing gear.

I was almost afraid to say what I fancied, I've seen the discussions on WSF regarding the merits of the various models and didn't want to start anything here. Must admit I looked at the 580, I've a friend who keeps one at Parkstone Bay, but thought it looked a bit cramped for fishing. I'm also considering a Warrior 165. Trouble is my "short list" keeps getting longer!!!

Tom It's an idea, but I really fancy trailing. I used to keep Figment on a trot mooring at Rockley, then moved into Cobbs. The reason for going to Wareham was a friend offered me the use of his jetty and the cost was only

Hi Dave I'd like a Warrior 175 but they're a bit out of my price range, so will probably go for a Raider 18 Fisherman. I want something I can tow, as I'm sure I'll use it more. With my jetty being above the bridge at Wareham I'm very tied to tides, Can't get under the bridge at high tide, hit the bottom at low tide. Also I use a lot of fuel and time getting down the river and through the harbour. Car parking in Wareham can be a problem and it means a long walk to the boat, with all the gear.

Reconditioned Ford 2.0L SOHC (Pinto) engine, with new marinisation parts fitted. Engine has only done about 2 hours running since reconditioning, including new camshaft, cam belt and unleaded head conversion. Enfield outdrive, plus complete spare outdrive and another spare casing and lots of parts. Engine and outdrive are installed in a 20ft GRP hull (believed to be a Colvic Sea Scout). I was going to completely refit the hull, due to rot in some of the timber, but have decided I don't want to spend the time as I'd rather replace it with a trailerable boat. Engine + outdrive
  13. Another law that won't be enforced where the problem really lies is like "Rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic". We need fisheries officers who are willing to enforce the existing laws regarding the selling of fish by unlicenced people. An example is the fisheries officer coming alongside me in Poole Harbour to check what I had caught and what bait I was using, whilst ignoring the dozen or so boats thet were illegally clam dredging in Holton Mere. I was the easy target.

  16. Happy Birthday Tom
  17. Dave Assuming it's an MT-3, I've sent you an Email with the manual attached as a pdf.
  18. Dave Does it look like this?
  19. Dave Is it a MT-3, if so I've got the Owners Manual (12 pages, can copy it for you).
  20. Happy Birthday Martin
  21. Thanks. It doesn't seem possible that I've been retired a year and only managed to go fishing twice (must do better this year).
  22. Thanks Dave
  23. It's been removed.
  24. Thought it sounded too good to be true. As the saying goes, "If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is".
