    Building Permit

Sometimes you must use the correct terminology! Some have asked what I'm going to be doing in retirement. Well, I applied for a building permit for a new house. It was going to be 100 ft tall and 400 ft wide, with 12 gun turrets at various heights, and windows all over the place and a loud outside entertainment sound system that was going to entertain the whole neighborhood. It would have parking for 200 cars, and I was going to paint it snot green with pink trim. The City Council told me; “Forget it...IT AIN'T GONNA HAPPEN!” So, I sent in the application again, but this time I called it a 'Mosque'. Work starts on Monday. I love this country. It’s the government that scares the crap out of me.
  2. I hope you get it out ok.
  3. I would be worried about the possibility of it causing a blockage. Can you drain all the oil out to give you more chance of retrieving it.
  4. Having heard about some good plaice being caught near Stakes, I went out for about 3 hours Thursday evening, left Cobbs about 6pm. Drifted from Stakes to Aunt Betty, then motored back to the Ferry Terminal and drifted to Diver. Lovely flat calm and warm evening, but not a nibble. We could have got away with one worm each all evening.
  5. Have a good day.
  6. I've messaged him on Facebook, to say there are some birthday wishes on here.
  7. Arguing with a woman is like reading the software licence agreement. In the end you just ignore everything and click agree.
  8. Happy birthday Graham.
  9. Had a tracking device that I had to phone then hang up, and it sent a link which I then clicked on to see it on the map. Now use an old smart phone in Diane's car, we then track it with our mobiles, iPads and PC. Using Life 360, which shows it on Google Maps. Use a Tesco Pay As You Go SIM as the credit doesn't expire.
  10. Happy birthday Stuie.

    Political Spin

Judy Wallman, a professional genealogy researcher in southern California, was doing some personal work on her own family tree. She discovered that Senator Harry Reid's great-great uncle, Remus Reid, was hanged for horse stealing and train robbery in Montana in 1889. Both Judy Wallman and Harry Reid share this common ancestor. The only known photograph of Remus shows him standing on the gallows in Montana territory: On the back of the picture that Judy obtained during her research is this inscription: “Remus Reid, horse thief, sent to Montana Territorial Prison 1885, escaped 1887, robbed the Montana Flyer six times. Caught by Pinkerton detectives, convicted, and hanged in 1889.” So Judy recently e-mailed Senator Harry Reid for information about their great-great uncle. Harry Reid: Believe it or not, Harry Reid's staff sent back the following biographical sketch for her genealogy research: "Remus Reid was a famous cowboy in the Montana Territory. His business empire grew to include acquisition of valuable equestrian assets and intimate dealings with the Montana railroad. Beginning in 1883, he devoted several years of his life to government service, finally taking leave to resume his dealings with the railroad. In 1887, he was a key player in a vital investigation run by the renowned Pinkerton Detective Agency. In 1889, Remus passed away during an important civic function held in his honor when the platform upon which he was standing collapsed." NOW THAT's how it's done, Folks! That's real POLITICAL SPIN
  20. On a single day, Washington State recently passed two new laws. They are: 1. Legalised gay marriage, and 2. Legalised marijuana. Legalising gay marriage and marijuana on the same day now makes perfect Biblical sense. Leviticus 20:13 says: "If a man lies with another man they should be stoned. Apparently we just hadn't interpreted it correctly before...
  21. I've got a couple of Rovex Ceratec 9ft Bass spinning rods paired with Roven Ceratec 6000's and a Rovex Ceratec 8ft Bass spinner paired with a Rovec Ceratec 3000. I have to say I'm really pleased with them.
