  1. Hi Adam Bad luck mate but something else will come along. perhaps something bigger and more ready to go Happy hunting Charlie
  2. Paul Now that your confidence in the boat and the new engine is growing I would not be to keen to get rid of half your anchor warp. If you start to fish the deeper marks you may need more than 110 metres Max recomended scope of 5:1 110 mtres only good for 22 metre depth Charlie
  3. Good luck with the sale Adam There can not be many boats as well looked after as yours. Charlie

We usualy use the Handle of the Stainless Steel J bar disgorger [1" Dia Stainless bar], or snap the necks. But I turned down an excelent hardwood priest for a friend when he emigrated and wished I had made two. It was about the 12" long with a max Dia of 2", a handle with some ridges for grip and drilled for a lanyard. The hardwood [oak] gave it weight and bouyancy if it went overboard. Charlie

A frog goes into a bank and approaches the teller. He can see from her nameplate that her name is Patricia Whack. "Miss Whack, I'd like to get a

although the letters page did ramble on a bit Bitch
  8. Very inetesting to compare the test BS to the knotted test BS and compare the results to the cost as others I would like to see more of the others we use on the list. I like fireline as its strong and durable. I had heard it tested high, but have had it tested for line class fish/trophies by the British Conger Club and it was within parameters. Charlie
  9. If anyone is really interested I have a video that was sent to me prior to a holiday in New Zealand, if you would like to borrow it or copy to CD. It show 3 lads fishing off the shore for Snapper and Kingfish up to well over 30lb an interesting type of angling, that even though we tried hard we could not get the fishing right when we were there. They use Kyaks to access the remote fishing marksand have the local knowledge [ my excuse] We had more luck close inshore from small boats, Dan had a morey eel and Sam a Kingfishamongst the many species caught. If we had that type of fishing here it would be great, but alas pout and dogs rule Charlie

  11. You beat me to that one Carl I also was told of the two week postponment, but unfortunatly server problems at work meant I could not post until getting home. Charlie
  12. Bye Bye great white hello new thingy Cut and pasted from Martins post when my old boat went, so my guess is; Bye Bye Maverick hello AWOL Charlie
  13. SAD Definatly time to get your coat. Charlie
  14. I too may go to look at electronics, then check with the USA company that Mark used. If I get tickets I will let you know, what day were you thinking of going? I may get some tickets at trade price, if anyone else is interested let me know. As my boss is off sick it may not have been arranged. Charlie
  15. Adam I have a trailer at work that I could arrange for you if Martins is not good. Alternativly I could arrange a berth within easy reach for maverick while you use her trailer. I am presuming that the new boat is fairly iminent, I have a moisture tester at work if she is ashore and you want to check the hull prior to launching for trials. call me, to discuss when you need the above. Charlie
  16. Nice one Martin I hope you and all the family have fun on her. I am sure she will serve you very well, sorry I missed you yesterday. Sam bumped into Dean and he was over the moon and dying to take her for a spin today. I am sure you will be adding a few bits, Electronics and rod rests etc to enhance her fishing capabilities. Very Tight Lines Charlie
  17. Hi Mike I am sure you have thought long and hard about the boat and engine. I am also sure that you will have a great deal of fun on her, with the additional space, greater comfort and a walk on pontoon all adding to the enjoyment. We have berth Holders at the Club whose boating is greatly enhanced by a Marina berth. From more use of the boat for its primary use, easy access for upkeep and maintenance to simply sundowners while in the berth. Some use the Boat twice as much as they used too I am sure you and the crew will have a great new toy for 2007 . Tight Lines see you afloat. Charlie
  18. Miss Behavin seems appropriate I think you have hit on a good one there mate, So appropriate for you. When is the running gear going in and approx launch date? Charlie
  19. Nice One mate Your Chrimbo preeent just a few days late. Pleased to hear that she lives up to all expectations and more. When you are down stroking the boat call me and I will go AWOL from work to pop down the lane and have a peek. I am at work Today and Tomorrow morning Charlie

  21. A book on the practical guide to the Codes of Practice to check for changes [Yes Paul I did use amazon via the website, took 3 days even with christmas post ] A gas powered soldering Iron and a wessex voucher ready for the Spring from Dan Charlie
  22. Richard If you have stugeron remember that you take them early and allow them to work before you go. taking them as you go out, or when you start to feel rough, appears not to work Charlie
  23. Nice one Dan Well done Mate If you weighed the fish please send me a catch report for the book Charlie
  24. Nice one Jack A favorite of mine and the boys is having a good eel giving you stick two good ones to the boat shows you were in the right place. We used to get some good ones when out codding. Frank had one the other week well over 50lb from a reef but did not have scales that could weigh over the 50, and the Club record of 62lb was also from a reef it must be ready to be beaten soon. I will try and find the photo of Dan holding one of 55 so you can guess at the size of yours, he was only 11 when he caught it so you may have to allow for that. well done mate another good specimen Charlie
  25. I had been thinking that as we drove back from North Somerset and could see no sign of wind. But when i called Humphrey he said even the Charter boats were returning early and he was about to give up due to the swell Funny thing weather we await the results Charlie and crew
