  1. Good luck with the sale Tom, and very well done for still going strong at 91. I am sure that I am not the only one that wish you the very best in the future and hope that we can keep going and fishing to a good age like you have. See you at the Dinner Dance mate
  2. Thanks Chris. Shame that the weather is stopping more Members getting out. Charlie
  3. Happy Birthday Ian I hope that the fishing is good over in Auckland
  4. Happy Birthday Paul Have a great day
  5. Not intending to go wrecking with just two of us onboard Terry. But if the water is settled and clear enough, we may have a look.
  6. We may try the deeper water further out, but it depends on the sea state after this short blow.
  7. That would be good Tom Where are you heading for?
  8. Happy Birthday Brian Have a great day.
  9. It looks like we may have a small opportunity on Thursday. Before the wind comes up and the Six Nations starts. If anyone would like to join Brian and I for a day out, please let me know
  10. Not sure that excuse will cut much Ice. Someone should notice that the ship is going the wrong bloody way. LOL
  11. A bit of discussion on this topic over the weekend with Dave and Jerry. It now sounds like the early may trip does not suit everyone, so it looks like we are now planning to go on Thursday 16th May- Sunday 19th. Depending of course on a favourable and fishable forecast. At the moment I it is just Dan and I on Alfresco. If anyone would like to join us for the trip please get in touch on here, PM or phone me 07887 794716 Charlie
  12. I bet that the damage gets sorted fairly quickly. This happened on my first ship. When we got back to Plymouth the ship was covered in Dockies all weekend, removing and replacing the bent bits.
  13. Looks like there is another window on Friday Anyone thinking of going out on the smaller tides?
  14. Years ago lots of people seemed to use fingerless gloves. As it was always my fingers that were cold, I thought they were the worst idea ever. Then I tried some and changed my mind. The pair I had on Saturday were woolen, thinsulate lined ones and I was fine, even when they got wet. The main problem with them is that they do get wet with the bait and need washing ASAP after a trip. I have never found a lined pair that are more waterproof. or tried some seaskinz.
  15. You arevery welcome Brianand Graham. Glad we managed to keep the rods nodding.
  16. Happy Birthday Dave Have a great day.
  17. No problem Rob If anyone else fancies doing this years trip on Alfresco. Please let me know. Charlie
  18. Well done. We were a bit further out Had half a dozen rays and a decent Spurdog Plus the usual dogs whiting pout and small conger. A really nice day out there except for the chilly breeze. Quite surprised that there were not many boats near us.
  19. I am going to start on the 50 50. Then move to a shallower area when the tide gets strong
  20. Alfresco and Reel Magic Dave and I have discussed it and would probably start by looking at the first weekend in May. Dan is hoping to join me as crew and I think Rob is considering joining us on-board. Dan and I would probably sleep onboard Jerry may also be coming with Looby 4
  21. Not a problem Graham. At the moment it was just Brian and I. Please PM me your number and I will call Probably meet just before 8, head out to anchor in the 50/50 area on the slackening flood tide. Once the Ebb gets going we may need to move to escape the strong tide for the last couple of hours
  22. PM me your number mate and I will call you.
  23. Looks like there may be another chance to get out at the weekend. Dan is away on the snow , so I will have space for a couple of crew if anyone fancies a trip out to get rid of the cobwebs. Let me know on here or give me a call Charlie
  24. I received a picture on Monday from someone using up some worms on Monday, who caught an elusive flounder a day late. 😄
