Been trying to contact the accommodation on the Island for a coupe of weeks. So far no response
Hopefully they are just away on holiday.
Has anyone else tried?
That is the quandary Mal
A lot like your original recommendation are 8 x32
or same brand are larger/heavier at 10x 42
is it better to reduce magnification or field of view?
certainly do not have the budget to go for some that bird watchers use. Avalon seem to be a good respected brand at reasonable cost.
A long read, but well worth it.
Interesting that charter fishing in Dorset gets mentioned, and the side effects that have lead to improved catches for RSA's after some restrictions on commercial activities were introduced.
Let's all hope that that trend continues and accelerates.
Thanks Graham
all great information. Image Stabilisation sounds a great idea, as it seems to work so well with cameras.
I was going to go for high magnification but after reading some of the information available online, I will limit that.
Thanks Greg
That's a great offer, but I may have to miss tomorrows meeting as its the Yacht Club AGM.
In case it finishes early could you please take them with you.
Could you also let me know what model no yours are so I can have a look at specs online.
Hi Guys
We are going on a Holiday later this year, to a scenic part of the states and I was considering updating my Bino's to take with me.
The pair I have on the boat are fine but they are a bit large and heavy.
Does anyone [Maybe the bird watchers] have any recommendations, for compact and lighter ones at a reasonable price.
Thanks
Charlie
Hi Guys
Dave and I have been chatting about the annual trip to Alderney and need to see if others are thinking of going.
With the price of fuel and everything else [no regular crew] I will probably accept a space on Reel Magic again
Dates seem to be 12th to 15th May
With a reserve date of 6th to 29th.
Anyone else thinking of going?
Or if a couple would like to come with me on Alfresco, please let us know.
With things as they are , it probably would only be on if we got a very good weather window.
Thanks Charlie
Thanks Jerry
Not quite sure what makes my suggestion difficult.
But if that is what the committee want, that's what we will do.
Like Neil I would appreciate a bit more clarity, on the rules of these few comps
Thanks Jerry
In my Diary
Will the Specimen Comp in July be run along the lines of the old 48hr comp system?
Ie fish any part of, or all of, a set 48hr period.
which used to be 1700 Friday to 1700 Sunday.
Best specimen to count, regardless of species.
Charlie
Hi
Some of the boats at work use soft bins to cover the skeg and prop
These are used to protect other boats from the sharp edges of the props.
The other bonus is the bucket gets weedy not the boat
On my stern drive i was dissapointed with the trilux ladt year
So i will go back to interspeed as used before.
Micron is an antifoul for slow boats as it scrubs off.
Sorry Mal
I cannot see that bit about only charging non Members.
My thoughts would be to fish for best specimen rather than biggest fish.
And maybe have to have some age ranges and allowance for the youngest to have assistance, while older ones do not.
