  1. Thanks, she looks great. I had a Wilson Flyer 18 when we moved to Dorset. she had a very similar windscreen, after I made it and fitted it, I had transformed the boats driving experience. Especially if there was spray or rain about. But not as much as when I swapped the engine for a new Yamaha 60 and removed half the bulkhead to make it into a cuddy like yours. I hope you have as much fun on her as we had on our flyer.

  3. You could try Marc at Haywoods technical, up in Hamworthy, but he too may be very busy. 01202 623900 or 07809 837316
  4. Great crack was always guaranteed with Nigel onboard. Us old danglers can always come up with a tale or two. Good to see the codfather back on the end of a rod
  5. Hi terry I spoke to Rob today in the yard and said he may get a call. he tells me that he is going to Cobbs tomorrow [Thursday] If you are still thinking of giving him a call, that may be good to know
  6. Hi Terry You could try Rob McCready of RYM marine services 07525 925257 He copper coated a friends boat at Cobba this summer, so knows how to book work in there.
  7. Very good advice Steve. We take ours off every year and grease everything very well. Dan has some horror stories from when he did his apprenticeship with Purbeck Marine.
  8. As Steve says best to get your own , should be available from a dealer or on line. you will need details of your sterndrive to get the correct one. Like Steve, I also have DPH drive I carry a very short piece of 4 by 2 softwood, to put between the prop blade and cavitation plate, this stops prop turning when undoing or doing up the nuts. 1st Prop [via the prop cone] is a 30mm socket and short extension bar, 2nd one is the Volvo tool and some 3/8 bar to turn it with. Charlie
  9. Dan in his Happy Place, deep water and lots of these
  10. Thanks Colin, Happy that I could help you out my friend. Pete is still there, but is trying to wind down a bit. I believe he did this on Alans boat last time but no longer does that sort of thing as he gets more senior in years
  11. Pete would have been my go too, I have never done multiplait so cannot help. Probably why we still use three strand. Lol
  12. Mostly Tow gear Live baits are so hard to get consistently. We will certainly be trying to hear where they are and may go even further West
  13. Thanks Mick I will get him to give you a call, his no is 07713 181609, so you can recognise caller. Charlie
  14. My Son Dan would like it mate. Can i give him your number so he can get in touch about collection.
  15. Have you still got this one Mick?
  16. Good afternoon all After several long but unsuccessful trips last season, Dave and I both applied once again for 2025 BFT licences. Hoping to use the knowledge from last year, and all of the kit to have another go at these mighty fish. Two weeks ago I received a message from the MMO, saying there was an error in my application and I would loose the priority that I gained from holding a licence in 2024. Thankfully a few frantic emails and phone calls later, the mix up was sorted out. I received an email this morning, with good news. Success I have another licence for the 2025 season starting 1st August. Sadly when I called Dave, his email was not so good, due to considerable No of applications, he had been unsuccessful again. Later this morning another email from the MMO, correcting the season start date back to the 18th July. as it was said to be when we applied. What an organisation they are, having worked with them for many years while managing a Marina, I should not really be surprised. Many Members followed our exploits with interest last year so hopefully we can continue to interest you once again. Wish us luck. In case you have forgotten, this may show why we got so excited just seeing them off of Portland last year Tuna Bust, best one long version.mp4
  17. Is that propane or butane Mick?
  18. Well done Mal Amazing how some fishing can help get your mojo back. Thanks for the report.
  19. Thanks for report Steve Glad that you had a safe trip and everyone caught some fish, to take home. Biggest cod of year so far

Thanks Oli What are their current quoted prices for Propulsion and Heating Diesel? Inc the various taxes.
  21. Well the weather scuppered another try for most of us. Dave and Adam took the decision mid week, that the wind and wave forecasts were a bit too high and unsettled. Steve's boat rides the waves better so he decided to go. What to do?? Go fishing of course. Sat was the best day so Dave organised a good crew to meet up at 7. Dave Chris Kev and I were all keen to get out and set off early to see what the sea state was like. " Its fine" says captain Dave so we settle in for 20 miles to the first shipwreck. Thankfully the weather was not as hot as the past few days. Then we started a pattern of several drifts, a few nice fish, then move on. With a target of drifting a big wreck at slack with bait. We shared several pollack to 14.5 lb. 4 bass and even a small cod for Kevin to take home to Bath. All to soon it was 5pm and time to head home. It had been a great day, with three good mates. What a crack, lots of fun banter and some fishes to clean and share Thanks Dave, Chris and Kev I really enjoyed the whole day.
