Thanks Mal
Wendy and I were out yesterday and there was a lot of big swells about.
We had a few female bream tucked in close and a few plaice.
But the swells changed out plans and weed in the swash was a pain when flatty fishing

A few of the questions at the end about identification of breeding males and females, made me think.
and I realise that I know less about this than I thought I did.
It may be worth contacting Traditional Shipwrights in Poole.
It looks like the sort of Yacht that they may have looked after in the past.

Good luck

No problem Colin,
I think I had the last one in the shop, when asked what it was all I got was, "a boat landing net mate"
May be worth giving them a call, to see if they are getting more in.
Thanks all
I was in Bournemouth with wendy earlier.
So popped over to Christchurch angling. They had one simular to my broken one. So I picked one up.
Just need to launch the boat on Monday and try it out.
Thanks Jerry
That what I had and am trying to replace, but am struggling to identify and source.
I did think about getting the Aluminium hoop and net from Stainless Steve and using the handle off of the broken net. but of course the diameters are wrong.
Hi all
I need to replace a lost landing net, with a large and robust one that could handle tope and rays.
Large size with a long handle would be ideal. I am shying away from the gel nets as I am not sure of their durability with spiny or toothy fish.
I have considered getting one from Stainless Steve , but am concerned about the weight when used single handed on solo trips.
What nets do other Members use?
and where did you get them from?
Thanks Charlie
Sounds like a great return trip.
Lucky for the fish that you did not have two rods onboard.
I did wonder last night why you were out , on a day when the breeze was fresh in the boatyard.
