  1. Well done Stuie and Greg I hope that someone will lead this forward for 2017.
  2. There is local company van around a lot at work. sidepower is on the van. May be worth a quote. Marty Cobb could also fit the tube.
  3. We beat some 50 to70kg yellow fins on standup 50lb kit last year. Not sure that you should try for the big blues on it
  4. great white

    tube heaters

The same leads are available from rolec marine services.
  5. Looks like a nice set up Dave Does the swivel on the chain help? Many boats at work that are rigged this way use the swivel straight to the anchor from chain. But they are not rigged to be tripped. I am not confident in those swivels, so just run my chain to the end on the anchor and trip it with cable ties as Allan does. The down side when it trips is that someone has to re rig it up on the bow. In deeper water we still use an Alderney ring set up.
  6. Hi Martin Dan was after some roofing felt, he will call you and collect asap His no is 07557807949 if you need to let him know a deadline please text him. Thanks

  8. Not able to defend the trophy this year, Will and I will be en route to warmer climes.
  9. All fish including the remaining bait were returned
  10. As I had Will and Trevor onboard today we decided to fish inshore as they love to do. Off to an inshore rock mark to collect bait fish, before long the blue bin was filling up with a variety of scad pout and various wrasse It wasvlate morning before we started bass fishing, all on the drift. To be honest it was a struggle for half a dozen small ones Will had 5 to 1lb 9oz and I had only one at 2lb 15oz, Plus a first for me a large Ballen Wrasse of 4lb 4oz on a small live pout?? Still it was a great day to be out on the boat, rod in hand.
  11. Thanks Greg Well done in your first year running the Junior competition. The new format gave the younger boys and girls a more even chance. Thanks also to you Bradley and Carol for hosting a great BBQ at your house All that were there seemed to be having a great time.

  18. Thanks Greg Lets hope that we get the weather see you out there and at the BBQ
  19. Thanks guys this year we are going with Wills son Stuart who hopefully knows how it all works, including control through a phone [which eats battery life] or by the remote. I am borrowing Dan's camera and all of his attachment's, we may even squeeze the pole in the rod tube. Dan and I bought extra batteries and a double charger, so hopefully that should not be an issue again. the best shots last year were shore ones with the camera on a small tripod. The bigger fish on the boats took too long to get in and need to start stop the camera too often.
  20. Mike have a look at Halco Max 130 or even better the new larger one. Halco Max 190 which come pre rigged with better hooks They were so good shore and boat last year, we imported some more 130's direct from Australia. http://www.fishingtackleshop.com.au/products/halco-max-lure-190-size.html
  21. Shit or bust Sam, shitvor bust. Good luck in Norway Chris Going back for the big one? The 4/0 swivels are rated to 400lb
  22. Just ordered some serious terminal tackle that was not available locally Some interesting lures, super strong split rings and inline hooks from jigabite Heavy trace line that is good to tie even at 375lb bs, crane swivels to match and some monster circle hooks up to 14/0. From UKHooks All ordered on Monday and arrived by today. Also when on route to Torquay picked up more inline hooks and clips from Weymouth Angling Centre If Members are tackling up for holidays or the Poole Bay monster, I would recomend these three sources
  23. Hi Greg Looking at the forecast for Sunday, have you any thoughts about starting an hour earlier while it is calmer? We could move into the harbour later if the wind builds There are only a few boats to confim details with, any thoughts from the other skippers/Dads/Grandads Charlie
  24. Thanks Adam 4 days before we take it on holiday Will and I might even remember the tips
  25. Hell of a lot of wake and wash generated But you would have to question the construction of the "marina". Was it fit for purpose without piles to take the load. Italian red tape is immense, so I am surprised that it failed. I am sure that even if the cruise line have to pay to rebuild , it is a much cheaper option than the liner going aground and having to be repaired, passengers compensated etc. I am sure that would run to a much higher figure than the estimated damage costs quoted. I am also sure that Cobbs Quay is constructed better Graham, thrust away
