  2. Chrome here I think Paul Charlie
  3. Sounds great Sam Well done son, it just needs a little luck with the weather now Charlie
  4. Looks good Paul On my tablet , everything in that right hand block that I click on comes up as happening today Bream comp next meeting etc No criticism intended mate Charlie
  5. 1) Court Jester - Neal, Stuie, Ian Simpson 2) Marlin - Greg and Vic 3) Alfresco - Charlie and crew TBC
  6. Could not understand why you would build a planning boat Fit a very expensive engine and leg package , that has a great power to weight ratio Then treat the boat like a canal boat and fill it with ballast Perhaps they did not go far and his crew wanted to dampen her action on the water down when afloat Positive side, the boat went well on Sea trial before delivery, it should fly now
  7. Due to accomadation requirements it looks like Guernsey then
  8. Thanks Mike
  9. Here is the latest picture taken today of her replacement Hopefully here in time for the rearranged Alderney trip
  10. Steak was great Martin Not up to Will's fillet on the boat, but as good as the Marais Hall
  11. Must be going soft again Have let the boys borrow the boat on Tuesday
  12. As we are not in the Marais Hall wendy and I are enjoyi g a steak in the Shai of Persia instead missed out the fishing part. Bummer
  13. typical the boys have stuck to taking three days off, and then the weather will change
  14. tried and failed again to add more views ??
  15. Thanks Paul Numbers tonnage and orientation would be great
  16. Thanks mike I have had a quick look at navionics on my tablet, where I remember all of those boats was probably on the south end of the big bank at the end of the little Russell. That other marks are a bit to far South West, as we have very little info on how to fish them or what for. Has anyone thought of using beaucette marina? Maybe not for us this time, due to bank holiday accomadation, but I hear from members of the yacht club that fuel is even cheaper there and its nearer the banks Another question, is anyone registered on the wreck site for the french wrecks and those around Guernsey, just in case lol
  17. Looked good this morning guys even in the rain Hopefully see you afloat tomorrow
  18. What a quiet evening We should all be dashing around. Buying ice, loading boats, tackle bait etc etc etc Hope we get to do so in two weeks time Charlie
  19. Thanks Adam The second time it was not my rope. We are still using an alderney ring system to lift the anchor, when out deep But the new capstan whips in the rope without any effort. There is less rope and calibrated chin on the other capstan for inshore use Charlie
  20. Thanks Paul If they have fishing marks on them please pass them around Lol I have been to Guernsey many times, circumnavigating the island whilst navigational training you get to see some areas where the boats gather in groups that put the cod car park to shame. Has anyone in the Club any information about these areas?
  21. get all of the population to jump at the same time perhaps the earth will spin a bit on it axis and get us in the correct position for warm and Calm weather
  22. And the new one arrived in the Rain earlier today Looking good guys Charlie
  23. Hi Paul I think that the majority are now looking at Guernsey with a possible fall back to Alderney for the last night. But you may need to discuss that with the lads from Redfin to see what they are planning. General discussion seems to be, going Friday 23rd Back Mon 26th Probably even more weather dependant Can somebody put the jetstream back where it should be please Charlie
  24. Looking great Paul Is there a link to the competition and social dates for the year? Charlie
  25. Guernsey sounds a good idea ref the accomadation and the fuel prices are inviting, But I have just plotted the tides into an atlas A lot of the time we will be running against the tides, which for this trip will be slightly larger than they would have been on the first weekend. Friday Ebb down through the race ends at 1309 Then tide pushes north for 6 hrs ( towards Alderney) Sat Flood tide ( towards schole) ends at 0720 Then tide changes to run south until just before 1500 After that a run to St PP would be pushing tide Sun Add just under an hour to the above. (If boats fancy spending the last night at Alderney we would get a push north after 1600) Monday From St PP Tide going north via Alderney race or caskets (shortest route) changes against us at 0910 So an early start would be required. Or more time on the bank before a long push home. From Alderney 0800 nip to speedy, for a try at the tope while waiting for our friends from Guernsey. We are probably going with just three crew so that we can all sleep onboard. This would give us the flexibility that we may need to use both Islands for a change. I have not run that past the crew yet, as I am waiting to see which days they can do. If the weather is good Fri I would think that a nice early start from Poole Fish a few wrecks before aim for the schole by 1300, a few hours on the banks then in to St Pp for fuel, food and beers Sat Slack tide out to the bank If the schole slow, may even try the banks down at the end of the little Russel by Sark in the afternoon Beer and food ashore Sun More fuel if required To schole/caskets/south banks Slack at speedy, then Braye Mon Speedy 0800 while we wait for boats that needed to stay in Guernsey Wreck hop the channel What do you think guys??? Keen to hear what others think, of course all of that needs a nice sea state Charlie
