Well done Sam, for taking this on. it was great to see all the Juniors playing together in your garden still wearing the hats that they had won, using the tackle prizes will come later. Well done and thanks to all of the helpers, boat skippers and especially those generous Members that donated prizes, and of course the Club for continueing to support and enhance the junior comp.

Thanks guys Looking forward to getting out there again fishing. Thanks for all the support lads, especially Dave and Chris for offering alternative boats for the Junior Comps and Dave for a trip last weekend on Reel Magic, what a boat that is. Can recommend Dan or Sam as able engineers for anyone needing assistance, they saved Dad a fortune over the past few weeks. The hardest thing for me is remembering that they no longer need to be told how to do things. Dan removes and replaces the leg almost routinely and his tools are better than mine LOL.

After fairly extensive repairs the boat is now back on her mooring. Problem was caused by a failed intermediate shaft bearing, that also damaged the bell housing lake Engineering repaired [Re Sleeved] the housing, New bearings and seals and a few other jobs were done to the engine by the boys and I Last weekend engine in, leg on, reconnect everything Touch up the anti fouling and launch today. Look out fishes Back in time for Junior comp part two on Sunday, Air Show and an Indian summer Charlie

She sure does Martin we have not done enough of it the past two seasons , since the Olympics got in the way lets hope we can do one next month

Hi All I have just been invited wrecking by Dave on his new toy, which is great as it sounds better than working on Alfresco in the boatyard. Dave has asked me to put it on here to see if any other boats want to buddy up leaving between 6 and 7 going west, to get the breeze behind us on the way home and tides in our favour Charlie

But the next place that offers to fill the box for a tenner may get a shock, lol

It probably will in the Summer Alun Others can be left in the cars and can be used when we get back. But it needs to be topped up with Ice occasionally hence the need to fit in the car and trolley

Took two to carry my existing [and smaller] after the Cherbourg trip, but would have liked to have taken more Ice as for the second year running we went in hot weather and most of it melted. When I try it in my Vehicle and a Marina Trolley, I will soon know if it will be too big.

Hi Remove the cover off of the engine and locate the gear change and throttle controls on the end of the two cables. the easiest check is to move the throttle lever and see what happens, the gear change should move first and when fully engaged the throttle control should start to move immediately after. a better check is to disconnect the cable linkages at the engine end and see if you have excess play in the throttle cable [which sounds like the case] if so you need a new cable the same length and type. Probably a "morse" cable, you may need to remove the old one to get exact length [if you do put a cord through as you extract the old one, so it can be used to pull the new one through], the type is usually shown by the sleeve colour Probably nothing to do with hitting the rock, but could have been done I suppose when investigating what had happened Hope that helps Charlie
