hmm... clever....how do you do that then?

I got them both when i was into buying and selling boats so i had a lot of contacts at the time. I only used B&O when i was selling but to get cheap boats i used to be a bit of a pikey and if i saw a boat on someones drive that hadn't been used for a while, then id just knock the door and offer a price. I think i sold about 30 boats with Chris (aka thats_biggun) over 12 months or so. I also searched local papers and shop windows for deals. I found Dat Dam Boat advertised in Lonis Angling Centre. It was up for

Daz, we had a little 14ft Dory and providing the weather was ok, we done loads of fishing on it. We fished the IOW cod marks no probs and providing the conditions are ok, then its fine. It provided space for 2 of us, but i had to get a larger boat because my 6 year old wanted to come out meaning 3 of us onboard. The smaller boat (Gnasher) was fully loaded with electronics, stainless rod holders and was a proper inshore fishing machine that was ideal for xchurch ledge, or the xray areas. You would be suprise what you can get for your cash..... I paid

very useful info lads. Many thanks to you both. We took a few over the top on the way back in, but it wasn't to bad in the end.
-
the mark was completley different today and the fish wern't playing ball . 6.30am launch, and waving at an open top orkney which i presumed was alun doing some bassing. We collected some bait and then dropped down on xray to fish the last of the flood. Anyway, the next hour gave a few bites with a couple of dogs and a nice little spotted ray of 3lb 7oz landed before the flood killed the sport as we were anchored windover tide.

a stupid question really as i dont take much notice of wave height, but 2moz is giving a reading of 1m on wind guru. Will that be fairly rough? Its also giving a 3 second wave reading. Is that a timed reading for the swell? Whats a good reading for wave seconds? I will be launching out of mudeford fishing the xray area. I will be ok, but i'm taking a mate out who has never boat fished and i dont want him over the deck
-
can't do 2moz, but i will be out Tue if anyone else is about. Dan, Bass will take most baits there. Either on drfift or at anchor. Loads of wrass with the bigger fish falling to crab although ragworm will give you plenty of bites from small bream and wrass.

Daz, the boat was out there, but they headed home at 10.30am. 6 Ray was the final tally with dogs, bream and maccy to back it up. The tide rip is minimal through there, i think you need to change to some low diameter braid if you haven't already. They were only needing about 6oz of lead to hold yesterday. How big was the conger? was it on the numbers dom gave u?
-
nice one lads. I may try for some triggers on tue when im out. Dat Dam Boat was home by 10.30am yesterday and they finished with 6 Ray. 5 Smalleyed and a spotted, backed up by mini bream and lots of maccy.

you are a bit over friendly bruv, i'm glad i decided to go to work now I think they have specialist web sites for your sort, haha

Gordon, he's only got net acess at work so thats why he hasn't responded to you. My dads taken my place as crew. They are launching out of mudeford at about 4.30am, but if you wanna hook up with them at somepoint, then they are heading straight to xray for a mornings ray bashing, and comming back in about midday.
-
can't mate, doing a 14 hour shift on sat, followed by an evening out on the lash.... im out. Anyone wanna take my place?
-
Come on Paul.......... less of the tiddler bashing Get out there and target something proper
-
Dan, use light gear and they pull back like hell, especially when theres a bit of tide running. As with most medium size species, if the gear isn't balanced then you can just winch them in, so something like a 8-12lb class rod with 15-20lb braid is about right for the area( about 65ft with no snags).

well done Daz. Yep, i wouldn't of wanted to of been out there in those conditions. It also usually fishes better when the water is flattening off and our boat had 10 in a couple of hours in mirror calm water (shame i wasn't on it though ) The thornies average between 8-10lb there and theres also a load of smalleyed to go for aswel that run into double figures, but average about 7-8lb. Keep plugging away and with a bit of practise i'm sure you will get plenty. They are there in numbers at the moment, so as soon as the conditions allow, give it another go. Danny T

Cam Cleary? Well done again mate to the AF crew. I'm just back after 3 days bivvied after carp...I'm sure if you got back into it, the thrill would soon come back

that sounds like mullet fishing at its best. It has to be one of the best sport fish that we can target and the fight is like nothing else. Mike, using small pieces of bread nails them big time, and you have seemed to have got the knack at catching them. People tend to think there much harder to catch than they really are, but as long as the presentation is good, they are actually fairly easy. I suspect the golden grey is a hybrid as the spot dosn't look quite right, i landed a fish over the british record last year that i got exited about, but i have a feeling that it was the offspring from a golden and a normal grey. Top angling mike and keep catching them . The one that got e excited

Dommy 4 goals I promised Daz a couple of marks. Can you grab a couple of conger numbers off the unit and PM him. Theres plenty enough conger to go round Dan And it was reef you were drinking, not stella ..... You hardcore barry bantamweight

we got 220m of Blue, 3 strand nylon on ebay for about 25 quid. ! I went for 12mm as its easier to handle. Its also very diffucult to use when new and will knot and tangle very easily, but after half a dozen sessions it will 'limp' up nicley and will be perfect. If your confident anchoring, and don't mind a few early coils, then the stuff is fine. It just needs breaking in. Then just get a good size lifting bouy, some chain an alderney ring and get the anchor tripped with a couple of cable ties and your ready to go. But, if your not worried about the expense, get the best you can buy.

talking of sharks. I heard on the radio that the pic of the Great White fin from Cornwall was actually taken in S.A. Now theres a suprise.

ok, i will help out where i can. Let me know if and when you plan to launch this way and i will PM you some areas/marks that may be of help. It may also be worth joining the club, getting to know a few of the lads and also trying to get a buddy boat to follow out

Hi Daz, welcome to the forum. Sorry nobody got back to you earlier (i suspect there all out fishing ). What kind of boat have you got? Trailered or moored? My knowledge of Poole is very limited, but if you do infact tow your boat then fishing out of Christchurch is very good and a lot of the lads fish out of there. I may be able to put you on a fish or two as there are plenty of areas/ marks that will offer conger amongst a lot of other species within about 4 miles (of christchurch harbour). PM me if you need any assistance. Post on the catch report section and let us know how you got on Good Luck Dan

not to sure how the salt will affect the glue, but if it dosn't then if will defo not harm the braid! All the carp boys use glue to stiffen the the last inch of braid on there hooklinks and it works great with zero braid damage. I would think you would be fine using it
