there was a report in TSF a while ago when Daz fished a 'gulp' only comp. Something like 50 anglers fishing the shore with about 3 fish landed. I think he reported in saying that many more would of been landed if they were using the real things. Cod have been landed on carp bolies, bream on sweetcorn, so if they have worked, then i'm sure you have a chance. May be worth spraying the bait with wd40 to enhance it further.

fitting new ones today. Ive picked up a new hub and bearing for 17squid from ambrose. The otherside was only done last month so they should be ok. Shes still out on a mooring as we speak but Dom will bring her home later The one that went was actually fairly new, but the lack of grease was the problem

well, near disaster on the way with wheel bearing problems, anway we made it to the slip was only to find the bearing shot, so there was no way we were going to to be getting the boat home that night! Met Ian at the slip in the buddy boat and we headed around the head in the last 30 mins of light of feather up a few maccy! Nothing on the finder, and we feathered until dark and managed 2 joeys between us! We got tight to our mate who threw us 4 squid over, so with now 2 small maccy and 4 calamari on board for four rods, we feared a short session was on the cards. Anyway, we motored over to the ledge drop off in near darkness! No flappers or big baits to use this time, instead the joeys were diced into 6 chuncks each! Tied to a bouy (after circulating it, as the last potter was still there which suprised me), dropped down in 55ft in amongst the rocks in a raging tide! 5 mins in, my rod fished close was away, the tip was going mad, but it felt very bassy when i hit it, before it dropped off! The bait come back completly unmarked and as we were rationing the bait bigtime, the same bait went down again! 11pm, Dom is away on a single squid, a decent scrap and the first eel is hanging on the surface 30meters down tide on the surface, now the fun bit if trying to drag it along the top of the tide and T-bar it off at the side which we did with no problems! Shortly after, i'm away, again on squid, and a good fight the 2nd eel is ours! A jumbo pouting is next on board to me, which is cut up for baits and whilst doing this, Dom boats another eel of about 20lb! The sea was a bit lumpier by this time, and i was suprised to see white horses breaking on top! A huge tide, and with the wind was whisteling, i should of expected it! last knockings and Doms away again, this time on a chunk of pout! 5 minutes later, and a powerful eel of about 30lb makes it our last for the evening! Comming in, we have a spot light issues, but staying up our buddy boats ar$e made sure we were ok but it was no fun, with waves crashing over the top of the boat getting you soaked! Up the run and tied up at 2am with a tally of 4 eels between the 2 of us on Dat Dam Boat, and a sloitary eel for our buddy boat! Not too bad overall on our maiden night voyage, although i think if we had plenty of baits and wernt forced to use small washed out baits then i think we would of done much better!

I want one I dont actually know why i dont fish for them, prefering the easy option of anchoring the banks for ray instead, but the aquafresh writeups are so inspiring that i think i will make a determined effort in the next few weeks to try for one. So much so that i have just got a spanking new wychwood 1 1/4tc barbel rod that is gonna be christened in crhistchurch bay very soon Great angling once again, and well done to the big fella for the double

well, looks like Doms out, so i will be looking for crew. Night session tue or wed for Conger (if i can get hold of some heavy traces and rubbing leaders as my local dosn't sell any) or for smut and stingers in solent. Split fuel costs though as its a 2 stroke:ph34r:

A mate of mine, Edd, who was worked for BHG for a longtime is now self employed and has always done the work on my boat in the past. Price of a service is about

Dom, Someone is looking at the trailer on Monday so if thats done then and you can fix the winch on then its only the weather gods that will be against us, but it looks spot on at mo

Rob, a classy tank and i love the idea of draining from the bottom. It makes loads of sense. I think the whole lot looks brilliant. Q. How imporant is it to pump the water clockwise as you are spraying from the top.
-
shusssshhhhhhhh PJ. lol. I will try it and see. I have a round tank in the garage so if this fails i can demolish it and try again I went with a square shape as it fits far better in the boat.
-
cash flow depending and if the trailer gets welded intime, then i will be up for a night session either tue or wed. Maybe also trying for a stinger out of lymo or could launch at beaulie(apparently there is a slip there) Dom, are you around for a bash?

the hose inside is plugged at bottom so the tiny holes allows the water to come out at high pressure! The last baitwell killed everything that went in it so hopefully this one works. I plan to just hang the pump over on the drift and drop it inside when motoring back up the tide. Any other thoughts on how to improve it? or is it ok as it is?
-
thanks mate. I have just finished and tested it and although its a square base (fits positionally into the boat perfect), the water circulates lovely . Just a small drainage tap to be added to the bottom of the tank now and i think i'm pretty much there ! Pic...

Just making my new bigger and better livebait well but want to know what way should the water be going in the tank? Clockwise or anti-clockwise? I know its been covered a few times but i can't find the old thread. Ta Dan

theres always a flyrod on our boat. A hingle Hokki works a reat for maccy and gars when stripped through on a sinking line.

mike, getting the winch off you could be an option depending on where you are. Were in New Milton so if you are to far than grabbing something of ebay may be easier. Dom works in Bmth so he may be able to meet you if you arn't to far from him.
