  1. that sounds like fighting talk paul...........................but your not gonna beat it breaming!
  2. im off for a week as from Thursday. Not sure if i can make fri as i have some work on the trailor to do, but i will defo be out next week thats for sure(weather d. I really don't fancy breaming so the 9miles banks after blondes will be the plan but only if the conditions are spot on. If i dont get a buddy boat, it will be inshore on the clan for an eel with a stop on xray on the way. If anyone is up for buddying, let me know. Il be launching from mudeford i suspect.

    Fishing bug

simple.......do some course fishing.........or if thats not your bag, then start looking around for some mullet....... to early in the year to catch 'em? defo not....... Both beats polishing MY rod.....thats claires job to look after my tackle at this time of year!
  4. if you don't mind second hand, it could be worth a pm to chris aka thats_a_biggin in our forum. he is a dealer, but if you mention my name, he may be able to something at a decent price. Dan
  5. Rich, i'm gutted you. If you want to get out at all just let me know, PM me a date when everythings sorted and i will do my best to get it off work and get a session in.(but bream arn't really my thing, even though i think the bream cup has gone my way this year ). I'm sure she will sell, more likely as a whole package i would have thought. Dan
  6. I may look south of the island, thanks Duncan. Tom, i have plenty of areas that i have had good multiple hits at the back of the ledge after dark, and have had plenty on the clan, but i just fancy a bit of a change thats all. (so after a PM of some numbers) I could maybe fish further, but its a confidence thing, even with a buddy boat i can still get a bit twitchy! There was a wreck finder on here, that i think Coddy posted, but cant find it in the archives. although it may not be completley accurate, it had lots of useful info on it and also gave me wrecks names that i could look up on the net and i found looking at the history of some of the ships interesting (sad i know). if anyone can locate it, that would be great!
  7. hey guys, im on the scrounge! i dont really fancy bream fishing this spring and intend to try a wreck or to, 'coz i love hard fighting eels. Im after some inshore wreck marks (not clan as i have it) that have a decent eel population. I go out of mudeford so poole marks will be no use, and i dont really want to be going more than about 8 miles. I did have Betsy Ann, but wiped it by mistake (i may have it written down somewhere but cant find it), but i never fished it so i am not quite sure how close this is, or how good it is. Also, is there any pollack to find on these, or do i need to try further in the distance? I have plenty of christchurch marks i can trade if need be (clan, xray marks, bream ledge marks, iow bass drifts, etc) Dan
  8. im off on Wed and forcast looks pukka, but the missus has booked me for other chores , but i may be out for an early run across to the clan on thursday before work, but i wont decide until wed evening. Im a definetley maybe.
  9. 9lb 4oz.... 120% specimen weight.
  10. Congratulations to my Bruv Dom, aka Dommyboy on the birth of his son Frazer. well done little bro! Dan
  11. Rup, i think it was you who was providing the entertainment when you were out filming with him................ overflowing waders, throwing rods, and a big barbs to. Anyway, back to the link, its very informative and i hope the method helps a few, especially as its filmed in water most of us know very well.
  12. yes mike, it got me after about 10 seconds to! But your correct, its shows a pretty informative method for those who don't know and also illustrates the difference for the less informed between thicks and thins! (but it does give away a local hotspot, so appoligies all round, but theres plenty of room in the bay anyway)
  13. he is showing a great way of catching them, but you can do even better by adding a small clear bubble float about 4ft above the ultra light spinner as you can retrieve even slower, but the float stops the spinner from dragging the bottom due to the ultra slow retreive as the rig should be set shallower than the depth of water your fishing! BTW, this is Dat Dam Boat that hes fishing on, although it (my) boat looks far more substantial these days! Dan
  14. is there many inshore conger around out of xchurch paul? Im thinking of heading to the clan for a trip when the weather gets better. I think about this time of year theres a few blonds on the nine mile banks, im keen to try for them but isnt it about this time of year they are spawning?
  15. hi mate. Where do you plan on launching? When it warms up a bit, there will be plenty of fish around, and even if you are new to the sport, you can still easily get half a dozen species within a half a mile from the shore. Dan
  16. Nice read rich, and well done. I took the boat out piking up the stour a couple of days ago, and blanked in style but Dom was out a day or two before on the boat and had a nice perch of 2lb.8oz (? can't remember quite what the weight was) that took a shad.

    sat

I fancy a few short hours on Sat, but am wondering if any one has fished the clan recently as i want to know what form it has at this time of the year for eels. I also guess it's getting a bit late in the year to try the back of the ledge for eels/cod ect unless any1 thinks differently (i know theres a few whiting and pout knocking about, but they are not really of interest). I also heard a report of a mate landing a thornie of xray last week. anyone else heard of much else getting caught there? Anyway, if Dom isn't up for it, i may need crew, so pm me if interested, although i haven't checked tides or forcast yet.
  18. Bob, try Adam and or PJ first, if not i have the following for sale- 2 x Nash Persuits rods, 12ft 2.25lb TC mint 1 x 12ft 2lb tc Silstar Tradition floater rod 1 x quad pod (goal post set up) 2 x Fox goal post buzzer bars with butt grips 3 x Solar Quiver-loc swingers (top of the range with stainless arms) 1 x Fox Micron M alarm (never used) (a good few hundred pounds of kit here) It's been a while since i've looked at all this, so if anyone is interested let me check to see if its all there first and not been chewed by the mice. This is all stuff that i rarely use as i have a different set up, but its all very high quality stuff, but you can buy much cheaper stuff (obviously much lower quality) from various Mail order companies, e.g Dragon Carp in the Angling Times where the carp rods start at
  19. just once ounce out, i thought the record was 4.6, but its 4.5. i was even closer than i thought. dammmmmmmmnnnnnnnnnn......lol........ Happy new year folks........
  20. thanks for the trip paul. some good fishing, but we really had to work at it. I look forward to the ray pics and especially the pic of the whiting. Shame about the launching though, but hopefully the repair is something you can sort quite easily. Danny T
  21. well done that man. I had a call ealier to say it had been landed and i was in a state of shock. A brilliant, brilliant fish. A few cod were also caught i see

  24. ok paul, i'll call you sat and discuss, but i recon the carpark will be out as i suspect a hefty swell out there.
  25. Deal me in PD. If i can get my trailer done by then, i wouldn't mind taking you out for a trip on mine (only coz u aint been on her yet!), but if not, i'l grab a trip on Neo if Charlie hasn't already.
