It mentions 'sustainable fishery'several times which would be a given in that for recreational anglers, it will be all catch and release. Presumably, there is going to be a fairly substantial commercial fishery given that they will probably require specialist boats and gear. Farewell, tuna? Terry.

Where's all the reports chaps, give me some hope. Terry.

Thank you all so much for the birthday wishes, it's a great pleasure to me that you have taken the time to mark the day. As far as being spoilt is concerned, it didn't happen. We were due at my daughter's for lunch and afternoon shenanigans but got the call around 11.00 that a house guest had got the lurgy so, just Dilys and me for a hastily organised lunch. Thank goodness for Morrisons oven roasted chickens. I am hoping to get one more day on the water before I start my hibernation until the spring warmth re-awakens me. So, watching the weather, what's new? Terry.

Don't for God's sake let him loose on the real thing! Terry.

A very Happy Cake Day Pete. Terry.

Don't get polypropylene, this is hard, prickly and unyielding, also it floats, not good for other boat users if you lose your anchor. The nylon is fine and I do retrieve my own! 😉 Three strand is also easier to splice when making up your various connections on your setup. Terry.

I used to have a 165 Warrior and had 200m of 10mm 3 strand. it was perfectly adequate and recommended for that boat and was easy to handle. I use the Alderney ring method of recovery so only had to pull in with very little resistance so, easy peasy. Terry.

As you're paid up until spring, it might be an idea to postpone until then, more interested buyers and perhaps the market may have turned up a bit. Terry.

Sorry to hear that Pete, comes to all of us eventually. With what it costs to keep a boat at Cobbs, it is a question of justifying the outlay, if you're not getting out very often it's probably not worth it. Always a berth on mine if you fancy a day out. Terry.

I'll put money on it being flat. 😉 Terry.

I remember a friend who used to reverse his BMW in up to the wheel hubs at Baiter. I questioned the advisability of this but he told me that car could take that sort of treatment. I asked was it galvanised but he said no, it's a company car. 😀 Terry.

With that beard you look like you're straight out of the bayou. Soon you'll be able to audition for ZZ Top!

I have the family over from Sweden from Thursday so, afraid I will be absent. Good luck to everyone. Terry.

I used to have a secretary who told me that I was so lucky to have so much free salmon. I did put her right. Terry.

Checking the charts, 5kg would suffice for your length of boat. Terry.

There you go, Rob's sorted it. Terry.

Pretty much in the middle of my areas of expertise, last boat was a Warrior 16.5ft for which a 5kg was perfect, current one is 6.25m for which I use the next one up, 7.5kg. I would have thought the latter for yours. Terry.

Ideal for sand, not so good on mixed or snaggy ground, being sharp and pointy they can easily become jammed. Definitely get a Bruce! Also consider an Alderney ring set up for retrieval, if you're not sure how it works, bag a ride on another member's boat and they can share the technique. What length is your boat for weight purposes? Terry.

What type of anchor are you using? The usual one chosen in our area is a Bruce (type) as this seems to be a good compromise on our mixed ground. In case you're not familiar with the terminology, an anchoring set up comprises the anchor and rode which is made up of the rope or warp, chain, shackles etc. Apologies if you already knew this. Terry.
