  1. Well, I don't want to talk too soon but I have just checked Wind Guru for the Channel Islands (Guernsey) and I like what I see. Nuff said! Terry.
  2. Castletown's a good launch, Paul. On a Monday, you will probably be able to park your car and trailer on the road as the residents will be gone to work. If not, drive back the way you came in, cross the roundabout and you should see a disused pub on the right with plenty of parking, no probs. That is, of course, if they haven't started development. Terry.

    Birthday

Many happy returns Kam and tight lines when the fish eventually arrive. Treat yourself to a take-away tonight. Terry.
  4. PJ, the stuff I use is Servisol Super 10 Switch Cleaning Lubricant. 200ml spray can,
  5. Might be worth getting some connector cleaning spray and attending to your terminals. With exposure to salty air, they do have a tendency to lose conductivity and the spray will sort that out. Terry.
  6. From the dining experience of those who went in June last year, do we want to book at the Harbour Lights Hotel for one evening? For those who weren't there, we had mussel starters (some king prawns), a fabulous lobster main with a Jamaican spicey sauce filled with shellfish and 2 bottles of wine for
  7. If you're thinking of the Needles, you'd be better off launching from Christchurch or Mudeford. That's my usual launch spot with my 165 and you're welcome to join me/buddy up from there. But, join the club as a first priority; you will gain far more than

    Rod Tubes

I must have missed the punchline! Terry.
  9. Obviously ebay are embarassed, the item appears to have been removed. I missed it. Terry.
  10. Happy birthday Craig, I hope you are having a good day. 51? You must have been a cradle snatcher. I hear from my son that it is raining in Bristol so, no change there then. Terry.
  11. ..........and a picture. I'd be interested to see the changes you've made. Terry.
  12. An elderly man in Louisiana had owned a large farm for several years. He had a large pond in the back. It was properly shaped for swimming, so he fixed it up nice with picnic tables, horseshoe courts, and some apple, and peach trees. One evening the old farmer decided to go down to the pond, as he hadn't been there for a while, and look it over. He grabbed a five-gallon bucket to bring back some fruit. As he neared the pond, he heard voices shouting and laughing with glee. As he came closer, he saw it was a bunch of young women skinny-dipping in his pond. He made the women aware of his presence and they all went to the deep end. One of the women shouted to him, 'we're not coming out until you leave!' The old man frowned, 'I didn't come down here to watch you ladies swim naked or make you get out of the pond naked.' Holding the bucket up he said, 'I'm here to feed the alligator...' Some old men can still think fast! Terry.
  13. Or is it the Midsomer or Jessica Fletcher syndrome? Everyone who comes into contact ends up in the pooh. Terry.
  14. Yes, I too have launched elsewhere and all is still fine. Make sure you service your brakes before fitting as, if the shoes are lingering a bit, the heat generated will melt the plastic jets in the drum. They are very easy to fit and you won't be disappointed with the extra investment. Terry.
  15. Provided there is space in the backplate to drill a hole for the jet and space around it for the water to spray around. Terry.
  16. Is there no end to the vanity of youth? Terry.
  17. Don't know where Gordon's came from, Craig, but mine came from HERE. Terry.
  18. I'll endorse all of that, Gordon. I've had mine on two years now and check them around 6 months and service once a year. Perfick! However, I do normally launch from Wick, which helps. Terry.
  19. Long wire everytime. Circle hooks will not present the bait as well and worms are also a bugger to get on them. A really good hook, IMHO, is the VMC Vanadium Red Worm -E7054 obtainable from UK Hooks HERE. They are slightly circled and the shank is offset but are easy to load. They tend to self set and usually in the lips; I use them for most of the smaller species like flatties, bream, etc. I commend them to the house. Terry.
  20. Ah! Silly me. Terry.
  21. When you say 'the list here', where exactly do you mean? Terry.
  22. Have an excellent day, Tom, catching up fast! BTW, I haven't noticed, have you got Quest II back yet? Terry.
  23. A 75 Year Old Lady rings her local NHS hospital and this conversation follows: 'Hello I'd like some information on a patient, Mrs Tiptree. She was admitted last week with chest pains and I just want to know if her condition has deteriorated, stabilised or improved?' 'Do you know which ward she is in?' 'Yes, ward P, room 2B' 'I'll just put you through to the nurse station.' 'Hello, ward P, how can I help?' 'I would just like some information on a patient, Mrs Tiptree, I was wondering if her condition had deteriorated, stabilised or improved?' 'I'll just check her notes. I'm pleased to say that Mrs Tiptree's condition has improved. She has regained her appetite, her temperature has steadied and after some routine checks tonight, she should be well enough to go home tomorrow.' 'Oh that's wonderful news, I'm so happy, thank you ever so much!' 'You seem very relieved, are you a close friend or relative?' 'No, I'm Mrs Tiptree in room 2b. Nobody tells you **** all in here' Terry.
  24. Many happy returns, Martin. You're getting to an age now when you can respectably be a Grandad. More inroads into the red wine supply? Terry.
