  1. Had a very pleasant day out from Christchurch on Friday with a new crew who I think will settle in very well. Helps with the diesel costs from home, too. Mackerel were very easily come by, when you know where to look! First cast in the right spot produced a double header of triggers and they continued to oblige with odd bits and bobs mixed in to help the day along. Best surprise was a big squid which was soon followed by others of a similar stamp. Not all were landed but enough to be going on with. With the calm seas and warm sunshine it was great and rounded off with the rescue of an attractive, young, blonde maiden in distress who had managed to break her rowing scull in the river up near the harbour. We returned her to the rowing club, complete with scull none the worse for her experience; only a little cold from her enforced immersion. Terry.
  2. Bathroom, yes, but there is an increased condensation problem with the power shower. Hopefully sorted now. Terry.
  3. Just to finish the thread, fan up and running perfectly. Ta all. Terry.
  4. Thanks for your help, Mick, it was very useful to chat it through with someone who knows what they're talking about. I owe you a pint. Terry.
  5. As in the heading domestic 230 volts ac. Terry.
  6. Is there an electrician in the house? Just a chance as I'm in need of advice with wiring an in-line extractor fan through a 3 pole isolator switch. Anyone able to help? Terry.
  7. ...........and that flags up the first part of your learning curve; join the Club! It will be the best investment in education you will make and a seemingly bottomless data base. Terry.
  8. And don't forget the annual run of haddock! Terry.

    "MegaByte"

I can see we will have to start a sub-branch of the Club; PBSB(Warrior Branch)AC. Either that or mine will have to go; far too common. Welcome Megabyte. Terry.

    Boat names

For the boat name, give Tony Deavin (fisherman1055) a shout, he has the details. For a pennant, contact Trevor Wyatt (Wedger); his good lady does the necessary with the stitchery. Terry.
  11. I would have said that was pretty good. Sounds like some old mucky fuel, it has only done about 10 hours since the previous service which cost more than that. Terry.
  12. Or you can try eBay,
  13. I carry two hundred metres but I'm a 'just in case' kinda guy. It really depends on the depth you intend to fish at. Three times the length of warp to the depth of water; 30 metres of water = 90 metres of warp. I would hazard a guess that 100 metres would probably be enough for most of us inshore'ish chaps. What size anchor do you have from the last boat? A 5kg bruce would be perfect. Terry.

    Mooring

If you do it right, Adam, you should be able to do it easily single handed; I did many times. The only exception is Baiter where you will need two to push it out until you can hook the car on but this can be eliminated by the use of a long rope and pull it out with the car. Moorings are not cheap so this will save you some money and also be better for your engine as you will be able to give it a rinse out after each trip. I don't know about trot moorings these days, last time I had one it was
  15. If this is a scam, Colin, it's a pretty convincing one. I've checked it through pretty comprehensively and can't find a problem, apart from the fact that the site has been so inundated with people removing themselves that it can't cope. Also a lot of adverse comments from respected contributors about the idea of a mobile directory at all. I'll wait and see. Terry.
  16. Now that really is a useful link, Thank you. Terry
  17. I've got one here waiting for you, Adam, just got to get it down. Couldn't make the meeting so will be down when the weather bucks up and for the BBQ. Are you going? Let me know if you've changed your mind. Terry.
  18. Taken. Terry.
  19. I know it's a bit late but I've been let down by my crew for tomorrow and unless I can get a replacement PDQ, will have to cancel the day, which would be a shame. Anyone fancy a day out from Christchurch tomorrow, probably targetting bass? Terry.

    New boat

Happy as a dog with two tails (or dragon in your case). Come on, wake up! Even I got that one. Terry.
  21. I'm surpised Deb lets you get away with stinking the place out, Alun. I throw mine in the freezer until bin day. However, yours is probably too full of fish! Terry.
  22. Did you tell them you are a member of PBSBAC and get the discount? Terry.
