  1. Having used them very successfully myself recently, I have the details to hand. Abu Garcia Pure Fishing United Kingdom - Unit 8H Marshfield Bank Crewe Cheshire CW2 8UY Great Britain Tel: 44.845.050.0091 Email: info@uk.purefishing.com On the internet, they come under the Abu umbrella as they are Abu in the UK. Terry.
  2. Reg, when is it you and your mates are coming down to show us how it's done? I'm planning to come down and play for 2 or 3 days. Terry.
  3. I would certainly be interested, if only for the nostalgia value, it could go on the dinghy. How much would you like for it? Terry.
  4. Congrats on your new acquisition. You won't be wanting to out on any old warriors in future, I can see. I hope you have as much fun and success as you did with the last one, but with room to turn around. I'm looking forward to seeing it on the water. Terry.
  5. I had one like that stolen off my boat Kara-Sea when she was on her mooring in Holes Bay about 30 years ago. I hereby lay claim to it! Terry.
  6. Thank goodness for that! I thought I was going to have to start again. Terry.
  7. I think the details Sam gave were for me, Duncan, as I asked for details for a week's mooring. Thanks, Sam. Terry.
  8. Thank you, Sam, that may be an option I hadn't considered before. Who do I contact? Terry.
  9. Where are you, Jimbob, when we need you? Terry.
  10. Damn, I missed an opportunity there! Terry.
  11. With reference to Gordon's first item in the thread, 'Launch at 6.30 and decided to check ot the newly installed bilge pump and live bait tank, both worked perfectlyand with a lovely anti clock wise flow'. Now I thought I had this sorted that the mackerel swim anticlockwise so the water goes clockwise. If I've got this wrong, that explains a lot. Can someone give me the difinitive answer to this please. Terry.
  12. Get yourself to Canada and get one of their salt water salmon trolling outfits. I've had one for about 25 years, complete with a beautiful centrepin reel. They use a trolling vane to keep it down and steady with a long trace. Terry.
  13. Presumably that's the berthing actually on the quay, up to fishermans dock or slip or whatever. So what happens in the summer there, is it casual berthing? I would be quite interested in something for a week so what would it cost, Sam. I'm prepared to make allowances for the staff! Terry.
  14. I'd heard Bernard and Herbert had spent a night in jail after too much sherbet. Terry.
  15. Hoorah, it did work. That's a Tub Gurnard. Hopefull, this is a Red Gurnard. Terry.
  16. Not sure if this is going to work but did it look like this?
  17. Right, Jas. It looks like it's going to be cr@p for the rest of the week so I'm going to give it a miss and postpone 'till next week. Watch this space! Terry.
  18. There's a cafe on the quayside, near the tackle shop. Only downside from memory is they are a little slow. Locals will probably know something more suitable. Terry.
  19. I think you're correct, Mike. There is no doubt about a red gurnard being red; it is not 'sort of brownish'. Terry.
  20. You're added, Paul. If your confidence is rewarded, let me know. Terry.
  21. Hi, Jas, I was planning to out this week but the met seems to be detereorating which would make for a wet day. Thursday seems to be the best possibility so I'll keep you in mind if I decide to go for it. Terry.
  22. Try Tom for details of Salterns. I don't know what they're like for pricing but the marina looks good to me. Terry.
  23. Done, Dave. Terry.
  24. Paul, you missed the comp to win one of these. Go to Poetic Licence and have a go. For details, go to Berley Bomb and check it out. There are a couple of vids to demonstrate it in action. You will find a bit from me in the comp thread that gives details as the prize was donated by MJL Imports, the company that imports the Secret Weapon from Oz. Terry.
  25. Either you didn't have a red gurnard or you cocked up the cooking somehow. Not for nothing is the gurnard known as the chicken of the sea. If I ever catch a decent sized specimen, I'm highly delighted. I enjoy cooking and eating and do know what good food tastes like, and gurnard is exceedingly good. Terry.
