  1. Should have called in, that's where I live. Terry.
  2. I think my first job would be to strip it down and see what the problem is, it might just be a broken spring or suchlike, in which case an easy fix. These drives were used a lot on narrow boats which is where I first encountered them, Chertsey Meads Marine may be a good source of advice and/or parts. If you are stuck, I'm sure there are club members who are adept and would lend a hand. Terry.
  3. Reverse locking pin or spring either seized, undone, broken or missing. Terry.
  4. Victoria perhaps. Terry.
  5. Terry.
  6. So, you're also into ladies and shoes? 😉 Terry.
  7. Nice to see a club member in this edition. Terry.
  8. I've just ordered one on line which have not been available for a while so, obviously, supplies are going up again. Terry.

  11. How about 30th December, same day as Poole Sea Angling's cod comp? Terry.
  12. As a complete aside, watching the BBC offering about the fishing industry in Cornwall, one of the skippers was targeting blonde rays, I for one hadn't realised they were such a sought after commercial fish. Terry.
  13. I'll check that out Rob. Ta! Terry.
  14. No probs, Ian, I hadn't realised it was in the distant past, I will Google something up. Terry.
  15. Either you or Charlie remember the name of the firm? Terry.
  16. Is that you volunteering for tea duties, Jim? Terry.
  17. Sometimes it has to be done! The one in our case was deliberately trying time and again, you could see him aiming. They can't really reach the Adelaide from the beach, only get close but he obviously saw it as beach fishers patch exclusively. Perhaps I should have released the Kraken, or Pete as I know him. Terry.
  18. There used to be a relatively reliable trigger spot Christchurch way towards autumn but that seems to have dried up. The only other spot I caught triggers in good numbers was the wreck of the Adelaide off Chesil beach, the only downside is the beach anglers trying to hit you with their leads. This is very ambitious with the distance involved but we did have one who tied a weight on obviously with a rotten bottom and snatched his rod at the appropriate time.........he missed. My crew at the time, who had a combative side to his nature, suggested I head for the beach and he would have a 'chat' with him. I declined and thought the best reply was to continue catching lots of triggers. Terry.
  19. Very interesting, I wonder where. Terry.
  20. Thank you, this really is a good place. Terry.
  21. Thank you for asking, Brian. After 5 visits to the physio and a Doctor's appointment which confirmed no lasting damage, I am finally able to get about again. It seems almost 100% back to where it was (always a weak spot) but I'm still being a bit cautious, however, things are on the up. I actually had a solo day on the boat on Thursday and am going out with Alun for company on Tuesday so, onward and upwards. Terry.
  22. Thank you everyone for your kind wishes I am hoping to catch up with everyone in the not too distant future, I may even risk a meeting or two. Terry.
  23. I spotted your boat out for a spit and polish on Thursday Kev, getting in early? Terry.
  24. Cheek! How very dare you! Terry.
  25. It is my birthday for God's sake - smoked salmon, obviously with a nice single malt. Terry.
