  3. Quicksilver 25lts......snug as a bug Gary
  4. Paul I'm sure they do new trim tabs now that allow you to lift up the flaps for shallow water launching and trolling etc. Brian I have a warrior 165 with a 65hp and trim tabs and can say there is no way i would be without them Gary
  5. Glad your happy with it Also another good point you mention is having the confidence with your tackle. i totally agree.....dont know why, but always seem to fish better when happy with set-up. Gary
  6. i use penn tidecutter 20/30 with 975 lever drag for big fish. takes 2lb lead no problem........and i havent had a 'big' fish win a battle yet! (think about it) if i was doing some serious big fish stuff i would keep the rod and upgrade thr reel to 2speed model. How did Bob get on with his new rod ? (same as tidecutter but special no.) my brother (conger king) has had some big fish (conger 72lb) not sure what he was using then ...probably 12/20 penn tidecutter.......maybe he will let you know Gary

seen them in christchurch angling (Iford) before , but i'm sure it was in the spring.

    Pirks.....

i use a 6oz Dexter wedge myself ....only for feathering mackeral though! Too expensive to lose on a wreck.....like the look of the pirk but probably better with 45 degrees each end and possibly a kink or twist to make it 'flutter' got a very small abount of 15mm chrome copper pipe here if you want to experiment Gary
  15. I may be looking to buy one or two of these for a friend ,does anyone out there know where in the U.K i can get hold of them? Or know of any reason not to buy them i have seen plenty from the states but don't really want to buy from there at the moment. would also consider a second hand one. if you know of any can you let me know ? Many thanks Gary
  16. cheers for the invite rob Been there done that.
  17. Am i correct in thinking that comp is only open to club member only and not forum members ? Just asking because i'm taking my 8yr old son 'floundering' on Sunday........beware the scare zone if you see us....he can get a bit excited!!!!!! Gazza
  18. I don't know how many times you are going through the eye of the swivel with the line.....but i`m guessing just once. would be interested to know the results when going through the eye twice .? Gary
  19. Well done boys!!!!! I bet the lads who didn't turn up were gutted Did Tony shout 'we need a bigger broom'
  20. Jim, correct....you can change brake cable without taking the drum off. if you take off the cable cover to the rear of the drum it will all become easier to see and do. Gary
  21. Jim, try a good quality copper grease, normal grease will stay on quite a long time but copper grease is the one for me. Also very good at all moving parts....springs and hinges etc. good idea with the trailer and engine forum Gary also try using some axle stands.....takes a little longer but a lot safer
  22. Barney, You may in time find trim tabs a benefit to you. These will make your ride a lot more comfortable stopping the cork screw effect on busy waters Best of luck Gary (whitey bitey) Just remembered you are on holiday so may not see this.....oh well
  23. Harry, Are you getting lots of interest in the boat with people coming to see it or do you find most people are being nosey and 'time wasting'? At the price now advertised they should be biting your hand off!!! I notice on boats + outboards the hit number at the bottom of the page was about 1600 hits. Have you thought about a auction site with a reserve price ? Gary (warrior 165 owner)
  24. I like it i think i could do with something like this to protect mine from all the rcap that comes off the roof next to where i park mine How thick is the material and what type ? guaranteed ? and the wost bit .......what sort of price ? Gary
