  1. Thanks. Yeah the story is the previous owner was in his 70's and had had heart problems in the past before retiring and his wife was pushing him to sell it, so he advertised it high and pretended no interest. However when he did sell it his son was needing him to help run the family business. I think he was going to get a rib after to tow the grandchildren around with.

Just like to thank Tomo and his pal for seeing me out of Christchurch on Sunday with my new purchase "Just Perfick" she'll now be fishing out of Newhaven in East Sussex which leaves him clear to concentrate on his new arrival!! The sea journey was a first for me travelling that far, just over 70 N miles via the Solent which was absolutely covered in yachts.. Good luck with the new boat!! Tim

  6. Hi Folks, I have two old outboards attached to boats on trailers that I need servicing (not neccesarily both at the same time) Mariner 60 hp (electric start running but tilt and trim motor not working) Mercury 35 HP (pull cord, won't start) could anybody reccomend a reliable mobile mechanic, possibly who will do weekends? And any ideas on how much should I expect to pay? Many thanks, Regards, Neil.

  8. I heard recently of an incident at Evening Hill when a group of "chinese" were confronted by some shore anglers over a gill net that they had set in the horbour. Apparantly the confrontation got nasty and a vehicle was attacked with a base ball bat, although te police were called it took them along time to respond, until there was a suggestion that a fire arm was involved. Does anybody know of such an incident and what the outcome may have been or have a I been spun a line? Regards, Neptune62

  11. I am working on a series of documentaries for Honda and we're trying to find people who use Honda outboard motors to fish at night (either commercially or recreationally). It would involve them to be available for a night of filming in April and the person/people would be paid, while still being able to do their normal work at the same time. The documentaries would be shown on the internet and clips from these would then be used as idents on Channel 4. Idents are the short clips that you see before a TV programme starts and during the advert breaks. I wondered if there were any commercial fishermen who fish for a few days at a time in a boat powered by Honda outboards? Another possibility is people who fish at night recreationally. If you are someone (or know of someone) who uses Honda outboard motors in unusual ways then please get in touch with me via my email brian.lavery@wk.com or my phone - 020 7194 7249. The company that I work for is called Wieden + Kennedy and the website is www.wk.com if you'd like to check us out first. We are employed directly by Honda. Best wishes, Brian brian.lavery@wk.com 020 7194 7249

  14. I do believe the 165 is a good boat but it could be better finished, take for example my rear bench seat, stainless steel staples cost
  15. What is it about the deck of 165's, I see a number of members run 165's, everyone I look at as a lumpy bumpy floor, the degree of lumpyness being proportional to age and useage. I've had mine 3 years and real am disappointed with it for numerous reasons besides the lumpy floor.
  16. Hi I would love to buddy up as well, please put Aquila on the list (insurance allowing??) Thanks

  18. Went out for a day on the boat after the Christmas break with high expectations, forecast was calm seas light winds and possibly sunshine. We fished with double squid baits all day, moving 4 times until it got dark. The final tally was one dogfish - a tragic result for a days fishing! still we we were still in good spirits amazing what tea and bacon rolls can do. We motored back to Cobbs Quay in the dark and tested our night navigation skills again - they need refreshing but made it safely. The VHF was busy with a group of of kayakers being airlifted from the race at Portland. Happy New Year Hunter
  19. hi brian i'm in boscombe . as for buget , it will be as and if the boats worth it ,not really more than 6k and will be looking for one the end of this year would love to get one sooner but i'll just end up getting something thats not that good or suitable for what i want it for. think for the best, get one ready and on the water for next season. over summer just gone i've been out on a few open dory styles and a radier . i've already come to the conclusion that a cuddy is the way, as you have shelter. would also like a good deck space (as i figit way to much) as for those boats , i haven't been out on many others apart from charters. i have looked at the seahog trooper but i understand that the early planning hull and the now cathedral hull are very different. and not sure what othe boats offer with v hulls etc. cheers alex
  20. hello . i'm alex a newbie . i was out on the dawn radier with alot of you during your cod comp (not in it) i'd never been fishing for cod as i'm a shore fisherman, but was given the opportunity to fish a few times over the end of summer into winter . big thanks to james.. and during you comp managed to bag myself a 17lb cod as my first. . now i have relised that fishing from a boat is far more comfortable than walking the beaches , and a great way of not going home to soon . sorry honey have to wait for the tides . i'm gunna get one my self . so any info on small boats (except the 14 dejon) not intrested would be really good . thanks alex
  21. Love too look at your boat and build photos were is she moored in poole and can we meet up Paul
