  1. Graham Nash

    Birthday

Many happy returns Rob. Have an extra one for me tonight Graham.
  2. Eh??
  3. Im already in discussion with that guy Mike, he has someone coming to look today (Sunday) and if thats a no go then i might have a look. He has done some bits to it that I am not a fan of, but it's a diesel british raider (which are supposed to be much better than mine????)
  4. I have been looking at a "project" for over the winter. The engine is my concern. Ideally I would like an inboard but i think that may be more work than I am capable of doing so it looks like outboard is the way to go. I see I can buy a brand new optimax 125 for around 7 1/2 grand or a 150 for around 9 grand, both of which are more than I want to spend (if I can spend less). My question is ... where do all the second hand engines go? I rarely see any second hand ones other than on ebay. Is there anyone here that possibly works in the marine industry that gets to see good second hand engines? Thanks, Graham.
  5. I wanted desperately to join in the fun with the kayakers a couple of years ago but unfortunately my balance was nothing like them nutters and I had to sit bolt upright and still otherwise I was over! So the kayaks were sold and i was back to "proper boat" fishing, and to be honest I had no interest in going back to it (it's a bit like motor cycling, loads of protective clothing and preparation required, which is a negative for someone like me, although the rewards can be impressive as has been shown on some of the threads on here). BUT then I saw this ....... http://www.planetseafishing.com/reviews/re...om-hawk-kayaks/ Surely even I could feel safe in one of them! Has anyone tried/seen one?
  6. well done on the cod .... and there was the rest of us WORKING!!!!

    minimum wage

Paddy McCoy, an elderly Irish farmer, received a letter from the Department for Work & Pensions stating that they suspected he was not paying his employees the statutory minimum wage and they would send an inspector to interview themOn the appointed day, the inspector turned up. "Tell me about your staff," he asked Paddy. "Well," said Paddy, "there's the farm hand, I pay him
  13. I believe there is one of some good looking bloke pulling in a couple of decent Cod isn't there Nigel?
  14. Not here Rob, but it keeps coming up with "error on page" every time i try to look at the sea fishing section? The one I look at regularly is planet sea fishing. Dunno what others think but i like it. http://www.planetseafishing.com/
  15. Dubai?!?! Good luck mate. I have PM'd about the anchor.
  16. There are LOTS of club boats at Rockley Andrew. I personally find them very good down there, the only "minus" is the distance from the harbour entrance (which at least gives the crew plenty of time to wash the decks down during the summer months, when the speed limits make it a half hour journey). Many of us use their lift facility, phone them up and by the time you get there its in the water ready or just turn up and maybe have to wait 15 minutes or so. Return and tie up to the pontoon and they lift it back out some time pretty soon (normally). I also find them a pretty friendly bunch down there too but I think security could be better. It works for me. Graham.
  17. thats a beauty Branco!
  18. we saw some nutter flying through the waves and my mate said to me "someone's playing with a new toy" ..... it would seem he was right . It looked great Trev.
  19. Terry ... it was FAR FROM mirror like!! I have just got back, i'm not full to the gunnels with fat cod (plenty of whiting tho). I had one large conger (around 30LB) about a million doggies, a few pout, lots of whiting and we dropped 2 big fish (probably congers but we would like to believe cod). I'll let the others post their catches. Oh yeah, at one point we heard someone on the radio say they counted 84 boats off the needles!!
  20. it looks beautiful out there ..... lets go!
  21. Its the first weekend that has had a decent forecast along with a decent tide, and there are lots of reports of FISH being caught What more could we want?
  22. Ha Ha .... there wont be any room to anchor!
  23. Oops .... after reading up on that one i started thinking .... "I dont remember that???" No wonder, mine is the 750s, not the 7000!! http://www8.garmin.com/uk/gpsmap750/
  24. Andrew, from what I know you just register on the appropriate thread (on this forum) and go fish when you are ready. We are all friends here so it's done on trust. Rules state there must be 2 people on board (I dont think the dog counts as the 2nd person ). I have been toying with taking my dogs out with me regularly, I did take one of mine out once (the picture is on the home page) but he stood up looking over the side the whole of the time so I worried that he might go for a swim, which isnt too bad in the harbour but not so good while anchored in 100ft of water in a running tide. I must try again some time. Good luck. Graham
  25. I bought a Garmin 7000 with a randome (for radar) and one of the V2 vision cards. It's amazing! http://www8.garmin.com/buzz/gpsmap7000/
