    minimum wage

Paddy McCoy, an elderly Irish farmer, received a letter from the Department for Work & Pensions stating that they suspected he was not paying his employees the statutory minimum wage and they would send an inspector to interview themOn the appointed day, the inspector turned up. "Tell me about your staff," he asked Paddy. "Well," said Paddy, "there's the farm hand, I pay him
  6. I believe there is one of some good looking bloke pulling in a couple of decent Cod isn't there Nigel?
  7. Not here Rob, but it keeps coming up with "error on page" every time i try to look at the sea fishing section? The one I look at regularly is planet sea fishing. Dunno what others think but i like it. http://www.planetseafishing.com/
  8. Dubai?!?! Good luck mate. I have PM'd about the anchor.
  9. There are LOTS of club boats at Rockley Andrew. I personally find them very good down there, the only "minus" is the distance from the harbour entrance (which at least gives the crew plenty of time to wash the decks down during the summer months, when the speed limits make it a half hour journey). Many of us use their lift facility, phone them up and by the time you get there its in the water ready or just turn up and maybe have to wait 15 minutes or so. Return and tie up to the pontoon and they lift it back out some time pretty soon (normally). I also find them a pretty friendly bunch down there too but I think security could be better. It works for me. Graham.
  10. thats a beauty Branco!
  11. we saw some nutter flying through the waves and my mate said to me "someone's playing with a new toy" ..... it would seem he was right . It looked great Trev.
  12. Terry ... it was FAR FROM mirror like!! I have just got back, i'm not full to the gunnels with fat cod (plenty of whiting tho). I had one large conger (around 30LB) about a million doggies, a few pout, lots of whiting and we dropped 2 big fish (probably congers but we would like to believe cod). I'll let the others post their catches. Oh yeah, at one point we heard someone on the radio say they counted 84 boats off the needles!!
  13. it looks beautiful out there ..... lets go!
  14. Its the first weekend that has had a decent forecast along with a decent tide, and there are lots of reports of FISH being caught What more could we want?
  15. Ha Ha .... there wont be any room to anchor!
  16. Oops .... after reading up on that one i started thinking .... "I dont remember that???" No wonder, mine is the 750s, not the 7000!! http://www8.garmin.com/uk/gpsmap750/
  17. Andrew, from what I know you just register on the appropriate thread (on this forum) and go fish when you are ready. We are all friends here so it's done on trust. Rules state there must be 2 people on board (I dont think the dog counts as the 2nd person ). I have been toying with taking my dogs out with me regularly, I did take one of mine out once (the picture is on the home page) but he stood up looking over the side the whole of the time so I worried that he might go for a swim, which isnt too bad in the harbour but not so good while anchored in 100ft of water in a running tide. I must try again some time. Good luck. Graham
  18. I bought a Garmin 7000 with a randome (for radar) and one of the V2 vision cards. It's amazing! http://www8.garmin.com/buzz/gpsmap7000/
  19. whatever happens i WILL NOT be fishing in Poole Bay!!
  20. Mike, the main reason we stayed this end was because the forecast had said it would blow up mid dayish and i HAD to be back by 4.30 at the latest so I didn't think it would be sensible going to the Island and have to take it easy just in case it made me late. The extra fuel was a slight concern too. I WONT be fishing Poole on Sunday tho', thats for sure.
  21. well done Nigel, thats a long hard couple of days but i'm sure your last weeks catches kept a smile on your face :-)
  22. Well, after all the recent reports of monster fish being caught it was my intention to see if I could become a statistic, but alas the forecast was somewhat lumpier than we had hoped (and we were running a little late) so we stayed over towards what I believe to be the 50/50's. What a waste of a day off!! I was so excited when we arived at our spot that I threw one mackerel bait in on one of my light weight traces from Poole Harbour last sunday while I set up my main rod. Once my main rod was in the water complete with pennel rig and squid bait i noticed my first rod was nodding ..... I left it a few seconds then lifted into something heavy for a couple of seconds ..... then gone . I left it out for a few more minutes before reeling it in to check my bait, but not only had the bait gone but the hook too!! That was as exciting as it got for me today, my mate had 3 doggies and i had absolutely naffink!! Oh well, hopefully I'm saving my luck for Sunday

  25. I would like to bump this thread as with the favourable forecast for the latter part of the week and the weekend I can see there are likely to be a few boats out there. Graham.
