  1. Hi all Bill, (known as Ferret), has asked me to post the sale of his dinghy, trailer and outboard. It is a 3 seat GRP dinghy which is just over 9ft long and nearly 5ft wide, will seat 3 or 4 people but if used for fishing I would suggest 2 for comfort. Comes complete with rowlocks & oars, anchor rope and anchor. He also has a Seagull outboard, I think it is a 40 which is about 2+HP which is also available. It all sits on a light trailer which could do with a bit of a clean up and repaint. All sensible offers considered Contact Bill on 07958 705005 I have the Seagull stored at my home if anyone wishes to see it. More pictures here http://s116.photobucket.com/albums/o39/Coddy_02/Dinghy/ Dave

    Friday 13th

Ref poor running, depends what engine you have, 2 or 4-stroke. If 2-stoke, if not been used for a while the old fuel evaporates in the carbs and you are left with oily sludge. 4-stroke & 2-stroke, old fuel can cause problems, if over 3 months old it looses a lot of its efficency in burning. mix the old with some new fuel but always start it on new fuel. A good service new goes amis for winter running as this is the time when things are likely to breakdown due to extremes in temprature and conditions. Hope the journey home was better. Dave
  7. Hi Greg Perhaps I could sell you a folding mobility scooter so you can ride it to the yard and back to the station! Leave it on charge whilst out fishing and it's ready for you for the journey home. Dave
  8. HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAVE Hope you have a great day and manage to earn some more points to get out fishing! On the otherhand I suspect you just go and don't have to earn the release time like most of us! Hope you have a good time Dave
  9. Suggest you take a look in B&Q as they have a number of tolleys/wheels which some are capable of carrying in excess of 300Kg! Cost around
  10. Happy New Year Mark Hope the weather (summer) is good down your way and you are managing to get out now and again. Rich I wondered what has happened to you, good luck in your venture Dave
  11. Listen out or call for club boats on channel 6 Don't forget that many VHF sets wont transmit if on dual or tri watch! Dave
  12. I have posted this in this area as February's club meeting is devoted to David Mitchell from the Angling Trust and is open to all Sea Anglers both shore or boat and AT members or not. The meeting will start at the usual time of 8pm but I ask if everyone can arrive by 7.45 if possible. The meeting is open to non club members and invitations have been sent to all of the local clubs and charter skippers (that I know about). The address for the meeting is: Parkstone Trades and Labour Club Ashley Road Parkstone Poole BH14 0BB It is next to the Esso garage in Ashley Road so it is easy to find. I hope we get plenty of support for this meeting and I trust it will not turn out to be a slanging match as it is your opportunity to find out what the Angling Trust is doing for Sea Anglers and how anglers can help the AT. Dave
  13. Hi all Rory, he who is going overseas, gave me a pair of nearly new fishing gloves to pass on to any member. They are a medium size but I would suspect a smallish hand would fit ok. The thumb and first two finger tops can be folded back and is held back by velcro. I will bring them along to the meeting. Rory has asked that who ever wants them makes a donation to the RNLI Dave NOW GONE

    Deck

Hi Jon I suspect that the floor may well be flexing due to water ingress. Many dory's had foam injected under the floor when new and it was not usualy the closed cell type so it soaks up the water! Most boats have an inspection hole so you can take a look down into the bilge to see what it is like. It may well be that some has replaced the floor with thinner ply but I suspect you may well need to think about a replacement floor, which is not too hard and doing now you will be ready for the new season later in the year. There are a number of threads where this has been done on the WSF forum. A lot depends on the rest of the boat, trailer and engine as to whether you can reduce the price due to the floor. If the price is right why not go for it. Dave

Too many Xmas crackers me thinks! Dave
  17. Hi Can I suggest you come along to our next club meeting, 5th Jan, and join the club if you have not already done so. I am sure you will find many of the members you fish out of Christchurch only too willing to help. I don't think we have any members with a Predator but there are a number with Warrior 165's which is very similar. Dave
  18. Hi Mike Blonde's are around all year it is just that many aim for other species this time of year. Good article here http://www.gofishing.co.uk/Sea-Angler/Sect...and-techniques/ Dave

  21. Just got a new TV so the old one is up for grabs if anyone interested. It is a Toshiba LCD with slight pixel burn on one side although you still see all of the picture. Does not have freeview but works fine. Seems a shame to dump down the tip but if nobody wants it thats where it will end up. Drop me a PM or call on 07581 717211 to collect fromm Broadstone. Dave GONE
  22. HAPPY CHRISTMAS I hope Santa brought you all lots of gifts which were just what you needed. Have a great break and enjoy the chance to unwind. Dave & Sue
  23. Hi Graham Looks like you have your work cut out. Stringers Stringer, longitudinal internal member in boat and shipbuilding that adds stiffness and may facilitate the mounting of further internal structures This link may be useful to you http://westsystem.com/ss/assets/HowTo-Publ...Maintenance.pdf Also seen a great idea is to use inverted gutter pipe along the keel to allow fluids to transfer from one end to the other. It would of course need to be glassed in. Dave
  24. Hi Graham First off I would use foam as the stringers capped off with wood, these are lighter and when glassed in will be just as strong. I would glass in a plastic tube for any liquid to drain from each compartment. Again when glassed in this will stop any ingress, 22mm pipe should do ok. If you are having empty cavities with no access I would fill them with plastic play balls which will add boyancy should the worse happen. I personally would remove all the old stringers and replace them in the same place but it depends on the state of the existing grp. I assume you will be making the deck a sealed floor. Have fun Dave
  25. Is this the new Kyak model for 2012? Happy Christmas Dave
