  1. Dave I think he's over propped, I put a tacho on his engine this morning and the best we could get at WOT was 2,800rpm, so about 1,200 revs down. He's running a 14" x 17" prop. I suggested he talks to Propellor Solutions at Sturminster Marshall, they might be able to reduce his prop to 14" x 15", the formula on Castlemarine's site show that a 14.5" pitch is required, so 15" might be enough to get on the plane and allow the revs will come up. My next door neighbour had the same engine in a Cleopatra 23' (which is a heavier boat) and got 15knts.
  2. My first action would be to check the carbs, sounds like they're flooding and you're pumping neat fuel into the exhaust. Pay particular attention to the float chamber inlet needle valves. If they're flooding it would account for it starting when cold, but not restarting after it had warmed up.
  3. I haven't managed to get out fishing since the Plaice comp in April. It's getting serious, I think Jim has been out more than me this year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  12. A man left work one Friday afternoon. But, being pay-day, instead of going home, he stayed out the entire weekend partying with the boys and spending his entire paycheque. When He finally appeared at home, Sunday Night, he was confronted by a very angry wife and was nagged for nearly two hours with a tirade befitting his actions. Finally his wife stopped the nagging and simply said to him. "How would you like it if you didn't see me for two or three days?" To which he replied. "That would be fine with me." Monday went by and he didn't see his wife. Tuesday and Wednesday came and went with the same results. But on Thursday, the swelling went down just enough where he could see her a little out of the corner of his left eye.
