  7. They don't call them the winward islands for nothing Mike. It looks like Cuca and the keys are also gonig to get a bashing. and I expect we will get the tail end of it as well Charlie
  8. Yes I agree Martin I remember the Committee discusion that there will not be a minimum size for fish being put into the book. I have been using the log to book large catches with the biggest fishes size noted Ie bass 4lb, best of 10 caught I think that is the best way to continue. but would still log all 10 individually if the Member wants me to. Thanks Charlie
  9. Thats news to me Bob, But I was on holiday for the Auygust meeting. How can I note specimen percentage if I do not have any weights. We have no problem adding any fish to the book but I think we should include the weight of the fish. If they are embarresingly small, do we really want them in the book just to make numbers up? Guidence/comments please Charlie

    Crab pots

Never tried traps at work but they should be worth the effort. HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM Charlie
  11. That one looks a bit close to Cuba Mike Good job you are not going just yet. I am sure we will get some bad weather because of these, we had better enjoy the current weather while we can. Charlie
  12. Have a good one. I will await the reports. Adam I see its Marlin now on the BW Tight lines all Charlie

    Crab pots

Have found the best use for pots is to cllect hermit crabs. the pots needa smaller mesh and opening but worth the effort if you get the right area. However mike is right they tend to disapear very quickly if others see them. all of mine went that way in the end. Charlie
  19. Daniel has been known to use that tactic, much to the annoyance of his bigger brother. Last November Sam stood out in the pouring rain following a bite for ten minutes before returning to the cabin soaked. his return woke Daniel who then looked up to see his rod bouncing, another ten mins and one 23lb cod later 1 very happy sleepy lad and a grumpy wet one. The joys of taking kids fishing Charlie
  20. Nice one James Did you have both the rays? Charlie
  21. Thanks Martin Looks like you cleaned up on the comp well done in that weather Thanks Bob Please let Robert know he is probably leading the juniors, but Sam and Dan are keen to change that with the next round. about time they had to compete a bit they have become lazy this season. Charlie
  22. Bob can you confirme that you and robert caught 4 mullet each. well done your scores beat ours in poole harbour. Martin I could not open your attachement, so can you add yours and deans tally to this tpic. I will get the attachment at work tomorrow. Charlie
  23. Hi went out with the boys today plenty of fish but all seemed to be the same species wherever we went. went out yesterday with the boys and my brother to a new Mark and had rays and plenty of small bass and other bits but of course today we could not get even close to that area due to the forecast. best fish today was a Scad of 1lb to Sam which is a new Club record Paul can you update the website. look forward to recveing all the score sheets Good news for James is that we seemed to have plenty of anglers out Thanks for turning out on a grotty forecast so that we can count this comp towards the BFM comp where James is doing so well. Charlie
  24. Hi Adam I hope that it is not as expensive as it sounds. It is very difficult to guess what could be wrong, if I can be of assistance call me. Tight lines on Tara Charlie
  25. It looks as if the stopper is just to stop all your warp going through the alderney ring. I use a small buoy attached to the end of my warp. so that if I get an emergancy I can let it all go, leave the anchor down and drift or motor away. because the stopper catches in the ring I can come back to lift the anchor later. This can be usefull if you are playing a very big fish or if someone fell overboard. The alderney rings need to be attached by rope/Shackle to your lifting buoy and threaded on to the warp and chain prior to attaching the anchor. I hope that helps Charlie
