  4. Well done guys sounds like a serious days match fishing.
  5. Just a little post from personal experiance I had an old wilson flyer 17 that had been built very heavy as a self finish I bought it without an engine when money was tight and fitted a twin cylinder 45HP, It ran ok but was not always a good starter and did not match the boat. ASAP I swaped the engine for a new 60HP 2 stroke. Different boat after that, straight onto the plane good top speed etc etc Fuel economy was much better with the bigger engine as there was no need to run at full throttle. I used the same principle when fitting out Alfresco, recommended engine 230 HP , I fitted a 260 we cruise her 1000 RPM below max revs and get good fuel economy. If we want to fly about we can, but it sucks up the fuel.
  6. Happy Birthday Sam See you later when I get away from the Regatta at work
  7. Well done for getting out Jim we were looking to go thisafternoon to use the spare worms bu wimped out
  8. The Navy was very keen to help to develop Diesel outboards to get away from carrying petrel on ships just for the boats. but the power to weight ratio was very poor a lot of development since then, may have sorted it out. about 50 ltrs each way transiting to/from Weymouth for us, if we use the tides. Plus a fair amount for the drift fishing
  9. Epic report mate Your turn to catch next time Jerry 1 How was the Fuel consumption this time?

  11. Sounds very busy on channel 37 [Marina channel M on some VHF radios] Holes bay boats [PBSBAC flotilla in Cobbs Quay] should take note that when demos are on traffic by the quay sounds to be controlled

  16. Hope that it all works out guys
  17. last weekend there were far more fish at the patch than at our normal Ballard marks It is a rough terrain and you do lose a few bits of tackle. But you can anchor uptide and away from the rough bits and let the baits trot back which helps a lot Good luck
  18. Nice result Well done all. What did everyone think of this format?? I thought it worked very well, allowed more Members to join in when they had a pass over the weekend and it gave a few of us a chance to nip out a second time to "Use up the spare worms" Even if it did have me scratching my head on some of the mini species from the patch. Yes Stuie I did have to buy smaller hooks. Lol I would be interested to hear what Neal and Mal thoughts are from the organising and Safety aspects, as well as Members views from a competitors point of view. Would get my vote as an annual Easter species comp

  20. Thanks Stuie That Format sounds great. I hope that all the members that get out this weekend book in and join in. A good turnout and result could give the Committee an indication if other comps should consider this format.
  21. Hi Neal Can you please confirm that this is a Members total comp and not a boat total. Do we just have to just nominate a day as Sam has or are times also required? Charlie
  22. Hi Will Happy Birthday buddy see you later with the boys for a bit of trip planning and a takeaway
