  1. Nice fish Sam Great option for a wet windy day in half term Sorry to hear it took it out on Rob's finger, but that will be a good bar story
  2. Nice try Brian You would think they would tell you when you can not use your boats, especialy at half term. A proper marina would Lol
  3. Happy birthday mate Glad that you had a good day
  4. Glad that is sorted Steve Great white had a similar set up and worked fine until the fluid leaked, a simple fix, I resealed the tank with epoxy putty, then glassed it in.
  5. Is handlining allowed Or Jammy git Just a couple of thought that spring to mind, lol
  6. If shooting through paint degrades it that much I would not try shooting through the hull. Mine is simply the standard lowrance skimmer transducer, that has been epoxied on the inside of the hull. It is shooting through the hull, 5 coats of epoxy and many of antifoul paint. tracks the bottom at cruising speed [mine not Steve's] and picture improves when we slow a bit
  7. If the battery version proves to slow, you can have a look at mine if you wish. Charlie
  8. I used the syphon for years on Great White and Alfresco, but even though I upgraded to the larger size for alfresco it is a bit slow for multiple drums. and the drums had to be fairly high up to get the syphon working well. Last year I bought a 12volt version of what Swellboy described from Quay West Chandlers. it works very well dropped into the drums, pumps 25 ltrs in no time, did three drums yesterday in about 10 minutes. pumped it straight from the drums in the Marina Trolley so saves my back lugging them about. I have a few cigarette lighter type sockets around the boat and I just plug it into one of them. I am sure the battery ones will be great for smaller volumes of fuel.
  9. Happy Birthday buddy I hope that you have a great day
  10. Happy birthday Martin Glad you had a good day
  11. Put my new chart into the plotter on friday and moved the screen to some areas we fish It seemed to show lots of contours and wrecks, but some saved wrecks were not that close to the charted positions Seems well worth having just for the contours I look forward to using it on a few trips
  12. Looks like fun
  13. Does not look like a cheap option, and I am not sure about the bouncy ride Looks exciting though Probably cheaper to buy a bigger cat, that takes the sea better like Manta Ray. Charlie
  14. Looking great Love the two big screens When I gave you the seat heights they were the bench seats by the table Your helm seat may need to be higher, I thought I had mine right then after launching lifted it two inches to get better view from windows, let me know if you would like me to check measurements. Looks like you have plenty of room to make the box taller if you want, more vent space around the fridge could help Charlie
  15. Welcome to the Club We have a huge variety of skills and experiances. The more that you join in the more you will get out of being a Member. You may also want to look at a few training courses, I am sure Coddy will be along to update you with what courses are available. When you get the boat you may also want to have it checked by the RNLI who will give you free advice on the boat and the equipment onboard. Charlie
  16. Are you cutting hatches in them Adam? A lot easier to do it now than later
  17. Nice one PeteG That reminds me of a trip to the seawork show with big Dave last summer while his boat was on the Breaksea Boats stand. As we walked around the show he said that he had no need to look at any toys for Reel Magic as they were all fitted, then we came across the machine gun and he changed his mind.
  18. Great report Steve Try it in the summer and you would get more exciting sport we have had good bream rays conger and huss around there and tope to 40lb
  19. I forgot to say, we usually get a sponsor for the cost of the bow numbers, but they are not that expensive if that is not possible to arrange.
  20. Sadly with good prizes on offer, there is a need to worry about cheating. My advice would be to decide well in advance what the rules are, publish them in advance and make sure all competitors get a copy on registration. This also includes the consequences of breaking the rules, and who is responsible for govering these rules and other things like species identification. My thoughts would be that anyone caught breaking rules is disqualified. At the yacht club with boats that all look the same we sometimes issue stick on large bow numbers, these have to be attached prior to the comp starting and stay on the boats until after the prizegiving. In this case it may also be worth taking photos of the kayak and crew in case of identification disputes. Good luck with the comp, if you need more assistance we may be a available to assist
  21. Thanks Brian Interesting thread
  22. I will check at work on monday
  23. 26th April has I believe been booked with the Yacht Club for the presentation evening. Charlie
