  10. I think its important to say that while this is a good idea, lets not get carried away Great to see a list of species that Members should be asked to treat as catch and release only. But as long as they are C&R, I would not like to see that extended to what can be recorded by Members for fish of the month or other Club species comps. Charlie
  11. Ah the smell of styrene on a warm sunny day, memories (wish I could say fond ones) Remember to wear plenty of masks and drink plenty of milk Pushing on Adam, well done (Well done Rob as well, your first taste of GRP) Charlie
  12. Welcome Nick Glad to see that you have sneaked out of the shadows
  13. I think that you boys owe me a pint or a nice fat turbot. Even though I can not make it in May, [which I am gutted about, but have another Island to visit] I have just phoned my contact at Mainbrayce for concession on the water Taxi and Fuel. They have agreed to do both, you just need to let them know before fuelling or when calling the TAXI that you are with the PBSBAC Club They are aware that you may not all go over at the same time, in fact the offer will extend through the season. The fuel is a great deal, Diesel is usually £0.95 per ltr, you will get it at the fisherman's rate of £0.79/ltr. Hope that helps guys Charlie
  14. As some of you may know I have a bit of a shoulder problem, constant aches and not as flexible as it should be. This winters maintenance has been more of a chore than usual, but the boys have been a great help Dans training has come in very usefull. With my Volvo D4 and drive leg He removed the leg for bellows changes, has sorted the trim and tilt motor out, removed and reinstalled the starter motor (not an easy task with the limited space around Alfresco, s engine) helped me clean out and replace the charge air and fuel coolers. Today he helped strip down the DPH drive in situ to replace all of the water and oil seals, before we replaced the oil and rebuilt the drive. If anyone needs a hand on maintenance tasks I am sure they could do worse than ask the boys for a price. Sam is saving for a deposit and Dan is busy doing up his first property, so they may welcome the income. Charlie
  15. Be careful what you apply over it You may just trap the moisture in and make it worse

  19. Well done Nige and Paul Some nice fish there mate Itching to get back out on the wrecks again.
  20. Do we want things of scientific interest, protecting fish stocks seems hard to enforce, but natural england protecting fan worms seems to get more priority.
  21. We have fished the kyarra loads of times, many times in the winter or at night Mostly small to medium conger and a lot of bait fish. Try the Aeolian sky for a lot more fish, pick small tides At this time of year before the divers start. Charlie
  22. Well done Ben She does go well, as you know, s he left Alfresco in her wake off of Alderney two years ago. I hope Steve leaves the secret numbers on the plotters.
  23. On or Off of the MCZ list what is the difference to actually doing any conservation? Last year the list of what could not be done in an MCZ seemed limited to say the least.
  24. hope you had a great day see you later
  25. Looking great mate Those trims and veneers will make it look good whichever you decide on. I would chose one of the lighter ones to contrast the teak edgings. Still not sure that the seat is high enough though, veneer make it hard to change later. Charlie
