  7. my first ever boat ....Sweaty Pollocks!!!! These old pics make me laugh!!!! No wonder i never could get crew back then!!!! The boat also had a hole in the bottom, we used a bike pump to suck the water up and pump out, as it was the only way i could get through the battens on the floor! Anyway, we still had a decent day wrass fishing, but it was dodgy braving it over H-Head. (p.s, no health and saftey advice please as i know it looks and is dangerous! and i have a sea worthy boat now )
  8. cracking paul.... but unfortunatley, with Adams track record, i doubt hes really after tips!!!
  9. thats the smallest fish, a tiddler really (first fish of the day), and the pic of the fly for Adam.
  10. hello mate, welcome to the best fishing club in the south, if not the world!!! Dan
  11. with PJ and Dom both reporting Mullet sightings, i thought i would have ago at Wick before they shut it off for the Closed season. I had an hour and a half spare between digging up my patio and picking my lad up from school. Anyway, i thought they would be tough this early in the season..............DUH...........they were jumping on the hook from the off..........4 small thicklips landed, all between 1.5 -3lb, with another lost one at net (a better fish nearer the 4lb mark)........ Also in that time i got myself sidetracked by 2 feeding carp (that i couldn't tempt)!!! All the fish on the fly (a tiny white bread fly)........ i have a few piccies that i will post if i can work out how to change the image size........... Dan
  12. lol, beat me to it alun...... Dom was feeding them earlier on bread! Im launching at Wick on wed, so i will give them ago for 5 mins if the weather isnt to bad......5 mins, that should be enough time to get a couple of thicklipped in

    Swap

Merc prop, good condition. the numbers in the prop are 48-73133-1 if that makes sense....it also has 115 on the outside... also 3 old metal fuel tanks, 2 large, 1 smaller. old and fairly rusty (well 2 are not actually that bad) and will make ideal spare tanks......... swap prop and 3 tanks for a few leads!!! or........... if anyone has an hour to take a look at the wiring on my bilge pump on the boat as its not working and i'm a duffer with electrics The tanks and prop is taking up needed space do gotta go! im in Hordle, nr New Milton Dan

    Bargin!

    my missus-
  20. some dodgy club member cleaned up with the weekly top awards in both the angling times and anglers mail.......... and a nice little earner it was aswel......
  21. Has anyone head of or caught many Blonde Ray from around the 'XRAY' area. As i'm not doing any sea fishing (concentrating on the rivers!) i'm planning my season ahead and fancy ago at getting a blonde! I've fished the area loads (its always a sure bet for a bend in the rod when your struggling!), and we always bag up on decent small eyed and thornies, and i know there are some decent undulates about (not had one yet), but for whatever reason, i've never heard of any ever cayching a blonde (apart from a report of a tiddler that was probaby a spotty)
  22. I have won top prize in both angling times and anglers mail this week, so i'm chuffed to bits....on top of the cash won, i have also won a brand new Fox tackle Xtreme Deadbait Pike Rod worth 64.99. This would make a very good bass rod for when the tide is really running or in conditions were you can't get away with a 'light super flimsey wand'. It would also make a top spinning rod. As i have more carp/pike rods that i can swing a sausage at, so i'm looking to swap for a fairly decent, light boat rod, something in the 6-12lb class range, no more. The 'prize hasn't arrived yet, so i'm in no rush'. Or anything else considered! I would also consider a swap for a barbel rod for the days on the river in the summer!
  23. Rich, thanks for the offer matey. I've just managed to get hands on a trailer locally, so i won't need the hi lux. Cheers for the offer mate, theres some decent people in here for sure!
  24. i have to pick up 11 square meter of paving blocks from st leonards on the other side of ringwood and a few from Parley. Probably weigh about 1.5tonnes in total and bring back to new milton. (im paving some of my garden!) Anyone know where i can hire a flat bed transit from? I only need one for about 2 hours sat morning.
  25. what fish won it for Jan? Obviousley nothing i caught as i never fished
