    Stuff Fish

  7. my first bass...about 3lb each
  8. Right, took the new boat "Dat Dam Boat" out today from mudeford. First sea trial. Nice and easy to launch, and i was suprised to zoom along at 20knots, considering im used to 8knots on Gnasher. Had a few pointers on where the bass might be hiding, from one of the more sucsessful fisherman in here, and i thought i was gonna bag a hatfull..... Filled up with perfect joeys that i killed in my livewell, to much handling kelled them off i think. Anyway, me Dom and my dad attempted to drift a float, but setting stop knot at wrong depth lost gear straight away, and i was getting a bit stressed. Anyway, i bagged two bass, well chuffed as they were my first, not very big, but well over the size limit and will be good to eat. A few more maccy, then we shoot over to xray. Unusual as the dogs and tiny bream were few and far between meaning small maccy fillets could be left for a decent length of time. First up, im in with a pb small eyed ray of 9lb, dom next with a half decent Tope, the odd dog for 30mins, then my Dads in. A great scrap and a big ray meets the net. A small eyed about 11lb, and also his very first Ray. A couple of bream follow, then Dom Hits a fish, spinning rod, 12lb line and another small eyed is boated. A smaller fish, but at about 7-8lb(another small eyed) it was the perfect end.(all the ray released) Just a word of warning, never put your finger near the mouth of a ray, one launched its self on the end of my index finger, clamped down and chewing the end of my finger off, leaving lots of blood....Hurt alot, but angered me more when the others are rolling about pi$$ing them selves laughing....i can see the funny side now. The tide was really pulling, meaning the rays were just holding in the current and taking an age to boat....great fun though, especvially on light gear. Saw JimBob in the harbour, he had a good day Dan My Dads Ray

    Brilliant

Colored Folks? This was written by a black guy in Texas and is so funny. What a great sense of humor! When I born, I black, when I grow up, I black, when I go in sun, I black, when I cold, I black, when I scared, I black, when I sick, I black, and when I die, I still black. You white folks.... when you born, you pink, when you grow up, you white , when you go in sun, you red , when you cold, you blue , when you scared, you yellow, when you sick, you green, when you bruised, you purple, and when you die, you gray. So who you callin' COLORED????
  15. there only using the carp rods for drifting for bass when u dont have to use heavy weights, upto 3oz max. They seem to just use it when floatfishing for them, as the long rod can pick up and hold alot of line off the water, so u are in direct contact with the float, allowing you to mend the line as you go, and making the rig fish to its max. Some of the top bass lads in here (namely the aqua fresh boys) even scale down from a carp rod to barbel rods with a pound testcurve, just so they can increase the sport. With the amount they catch, who's to argue If you are drifting on the bottom, a normal 8-12lb class boat rod would do the trick. Spinning/plugging and feathering also great on a carprod.
  16. cheers guys, ive still not got any numbers, so if anyone wants to help, pm me

  23. havnt done much in other climates, although i did go big game fishing in St Lucia out of Rodney Bay, a beautiful place, fishing wasn't great though. Landed one barracuda, but did watch a marlin playing on the surface, couldn't get a hook up though. I fished Dream Lake in France with Dom and Big Steve, spent the week carp fishing which was great fun.....Dom finished Top Rod on the lake with the most fish, with biggies over well over 40lb.....They were even doing a Carp Talk Mag feature and he out fished the pro's..............I would love to go back.................Or a go on the River Ebro in Spain for the big cats..... With the way my finances are, xchurch harbour is gonna be the furthest i get out for a long while
