I know ive posted this before, but i still can't view any of the pics from my album. Can anyone else see them? There should be about 14 uploaded. Paul D said he could view before, but I can't really see how anyone else can see them, if I can't. All I have is a pic of the Cod brace, and thats it. It also keeps defaulting back to 'view by me' on the edit page. Thats all that I can use. Can anyone else view my album?

liquidise it with a couple of pigs livers, freeze it and pop in in with the bream groundbait for the beginning of spring

well done to the crew of Nipper again, you boys seem to be flying the flag for the club lately. Its a shame the conditions were poor because I think if everyone had sat it out and fished hard at the back of the IOW then there would of been more caught im sure. There does seem to be more fish around this year though. The 2 I had the other day had no sprats in them, just full of crab which could mean there feeding hard on the bottom. Well done Rich and Mark Dan

next time, maybe try out of mudeford. a couple of miles is the xchurch ledge, straight on the cod/conger grounds and still close enough to feel safe in a small boat (as your boat is tiny, still only attempt if the conditions are perfect, but we took a 14ft boat out there often with no problems). PM me if you need any inshore areas from there. Well done for getting out all the same. Dan

no sympathy Jack, just a big well done mate. For me, I mainly fish for sport, not the table, so a few conger that really pull back would be better than bagging whiting all day. At least you come home knowing you rearly had a decent battle, and nearly had your arms pulled off by a proper beast, and won!!!

Hi Adam, Flood tide, spot on mate. Both fish were caught on the other side of the island. The pic was taken once we passed the lighthouse on the way home

well, instead of doing the family thing and driving upto London to see the relatives 9 ileft the missus to take the kids there instead i decided to get out for my 1st ever proper Cod session. I met fellow club member Clive and headed off for launch at Keyhaven. Got the boat in at low water, managed to sink the trailer wheels in the thick silt and then relised that i had left the lifting buoy, so a quick trip home whilst I left Clive to set up his tackle on the pontoon. Anyway, we set off after the initial problems, navigating out of the harbour to hurst where it was nice and calm, allowing me to get the boat on the plane and at 22 knots. We got to the needles bridge in quick time, but here we were met with a nasty chop that chucked the boat allover the place for 5 minutes. Once past, i head to join a couple of other boats that were already on the cod grounds. A quick wave to someone in a Boston Waler, PJ maybe (???), but with VHF problems, i couldn't call up and be sure. Anchored up, got the rods out, big squid baits to me, squid/lug baits to Clive and 2lb+ of lead in a very strong tide. The first couple of hours gave the normal twitch twitch as we had doggy action mixed with the odd jumbo pout, then all of a sudden the rod fished 30yards down tide doubles in the rests. COD ON!!!!!!!!!!! After a decent scrap, up comes my first ever Cod, not huge, but a IOW fish all the same. Just as im doing a picture, Clive calls and says my other rod is doubling up. I drop my cod on to the deck, to do battle with my 2nd fish........ COD ON AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!! Another decent scrap brings my 2nd fish, all in a hectic 5 minute spell. MY 2ND COD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! after that, a deserved cupper, followed by a conger type bite during the slack water. I hit it, have a decent tussle for 5 minutes before it drops the hook, followed by Clive hooking a probable conger that he tussles for 5 minutes or so before it also gets away. Anyway, at 3pm we up anchor, motor back to keyhaven in flat calm seas. I know that the cod arn't huge, but a couple of fish, up to around double figures is a right result on a maiden cod trip. Shame im not fishing the comp on thursday Interesting, the cod were full of hardback crab, so maybe peeler(if you can get any!!) and squid combo could be a killer in the comp. Dan P.S Thanks for being decent company clive.

nice one. Everyone seems to be getting them at the moment. Needles or nab tower?

welcome mate. sea sickness can be a right problem. Ive taken crew out on my small boat and there have been times that i have had to cut the trip early and go home due to sickness. Occasionally even regular boaters can have problems with it, as Dom found out, wrenching over the side when he had never felt ill before. Lots of myths about what works and dosn't, but I take Sea Legs every time, and have never felt ill

clive, your in. I will call you later and discuss mate. Dan

theres some free parking at keyhaven and a couple of miles closer to the needles
-
super fishing mate. I cant wait to have a go soon. Im kind of thinking its going to be the needles instead of the ledge. Top job Paul

i think low water will be about 8.30am so theres no chance of getting over the bar then. Probably launch about 10am or so, but it dosn't really matter. OR......Keyhaven launch and fish the carpark......anytime launch there...any1 interested pm me, but split fuel costs as said as its a 2 stroke.

Im planning my boxing day session and looking for crew (i have to fish boxing day every year!!!!). Split fuel costs and can fish up to 2 guests, but one crew member would give better deck space but i will take 2 if needed. Out on the ledge for Cod/Conger weather depending. Late launch so there will be some water over the bar. I know its early to post this, but i thought getting crew on boxing day may be tricky. Dan
