Whatever you choose, if you can get hold of a pair of silk glove liners, they drastically change the game. I used to have RAF ones dating back to the days when they were flying unheated aircraft like Lancasters, absolutely brilliant. Personally, I like something like Buffalo Mittens which I always used in the mountains, water resistant rather than waterproof and I take them off to do anything technical. Thank you all so much for the birthday wishes, it's a great pleasure to me that you have taken the time to mark the day. As far as being spoilt is concerned, it didn't happen. We were due at my daughter's for lunch and afternoon shenanigans but got the call around 11.00 that a house guest had got the lurgy so, just Dilys and me for a hastily organised lunch. Thank goodness for Morrisons oven roasted chickens. I am hoping to get one more day on the water before I start my hibernation until the spring warmth re-awakens me. Don't get polypropylene, this is hard, prickly and unyielding, also it floats, not good for other boat users if you lose your anchor. The nylon is fine and I do retrieve my own! 😉 Three strand is also easier to splice when making up your various connections on your setup. Terry.
