  1. I'm assuming this is a voluntary limit for members of the NFSA? Terry.
  2. ..............and the conger breathe a sigh of relief. Terry.
  3. Although the above looks a bargain, an alternative is the Garmin FF160 Fishfinder - 200kHz which J.K. Max Navigation is doing for
  4. Two codling and an abundance of good quality whiting for Stingray. Some pout but no dogs whatsoever. What a difference a week makes. Beautiful day, good company and whiting for supper tomorrow. All's right with the world. Terry.
  5. Is anyone NOT going? I shall be fishing into darkness if they're still biting. Terry.
  6. There seems to be a weather window on Sunday. Anybody else thinking of going out? Terry.
  7. There is indeed Jim, you'll find details here Bass secret weapon Terry.
  8. There are times when I would forego the rays. No one says you have to use them all the time, just when the kennels are open. Terry.
  9. Looked into it a bit further and it appears to be a magnetic metal made from a mixture of neodymium, iron and boron. Perhaps we could get weights made from it. Further details here Shark Repellers Terry.
  10. I happened to be watching a programme about the Atlantic last night and there was a piece about protecting sharks from dying on set lines. Someone has designed a hook made from a new material which repels sharks and not other fish so they avoid the danger but it doesn't affect the catch of targetted fish. I wonder, would this work with dogfish? If so, I can imagine they would be very popular in our area. I must look into this further. Could be part of the new plan, Charlie. Terry.

    Sunday

Looking at the reports, I think your where and what questions are fairly academic. With several of the Poole charter fleet going east, I think that should help your choice. Terry.
  12. I'd be up for that, Charlie, if you've got space. Terry.
  13. Friday's looking even better Alun. I was thinking about a go Friday or Saturday but the tides aren't easy. I'll keep an eye on it. Terry.
  14. And the other end? Terry.
  15. Those sort of presents will be late for me this year, like Easter. We are visiting family in Florida then so it makes sense to wait until then. But I am making a list. Terry.
  16. A cocktail of banana skin and Mars bar wrapper? Terry.
  17. Too kind, Paul. Terry.
  18. Well done on finding the whiting, Alun. I'll set my gear up and be ready for the weather window, when it arrives. Terry.
  19. All good wishes gratefully received, belated or not. Terry.
  20. Is sycamore any good? I have managed to source oak dust and shavings from the local sawmill who have one workshop just making oak rustic furniture. I really must finish getting set up. Terry.
  21. Thanks very much for all your good wishes, chaps, they're very much appreciated. I had a very exciting day clearing the leaves from the sycamore trees surrounding the garden. Hopefully this will be the last time as I'm installing a log burning stove and I'm going to cut the bl@@dy things down and turn them into logs. Terry.
  22. When you see how it works, you will realise this is not a problem. One demonstration will be worth a thousand words. Terry.
  23. Without trying to be smart, I don't think anyone mentioned together that the chain should be shackled at the bottom of the anchor (PJ) and then attached at the top with cable ties (Rob mentioned the ties, as did codless, but not where) to enable it to trip when pulled backwards or up. Terry.
  24. Thank you for that, PJ, I will get my order in without delay. Trim tabs, hmm. I have had them on Stingray for 3 years now and due to a completely avoidable situation damaged one of them recently. When I took Tom out about a week ago I had removed them for repair and am now pretty convinced that the benefits derived from them are marginal at best. It may, of course, just be the setup of my boat but I really believe that the ride was actually better without them. Which is all very galling as I have previously been quite an advocate of the benefits. Oh well, such is life; now I have to decide whether or not to refit them. Terry.
  25. My second pennant has just split assunder across the middle. I don't think they like the long road journey with the added wind factor. What about some plastic stick-on logo's (the sort that don't require glue) which could be put on a window or other flat surface? Terry.
