I would imagine it will just put extra pressure on the hospital. Terry.

Jim and I went out just after 8 and had a rough ride to Dancing Ledge but the day progressed into a really delightful bonus one, glad we stuck with it. Terry.

Nothing to do with your trip but have you seen the news that the only doctor's surgery on Alderney is closing? Losing money and staff overworked apparently. Terry.

One thing in it's favour Jim, in the present climate, it's probably increasing in value rather than depreciating and there's not many things you can say that about. Terry.

Volvo penta outdrive propeller shaft problem - help
plaicemat replied to Steve S's topic in Engine Talk
In my engineering days, we used to grind the shaft to reduce the diameter and then metalise or spray weld additional material onto shafts and then grind to size. Any decent engine engineering company should be able to do this for you. I don't think times have changed too much. A for example https://www.saunders-motorworks.co.uk/engine-services.html Terry. -
And heavy duty hatch. Terry.

I used Wick for years and always found it most hospitable with plenty of parking and quite enjoyed the ride down the river to the entrance. It has the added advantage of giving your engine a flush in fresh water. Watch the channel and yes, the entrance can be challenging but, during the summer, it is normally well and reliably marked. Alun is obviously the meister on the entrance and yes, he uses Mudeford slip which is only a few yards from the entrance. Terry.

EU regs, they should not be used here, obviously! A remoaner designed the poster. Terry.

I wonder if one could crowd fund for a 'contract' on Putin? Would there be any takers/givers? Terry.

I have to say, I did consider changing to hydraulic steering, Baystar from choice but there are cheaper options out there and easy enough to fit oneself. Terry.

I have IceyTek 70ltr long box and 40ltr cube one which seem to cover most of my needs for both catch and provisions. I only tend to use the bigger one for longer trips and it keeps cold for 5 days with ice still in there, although obviously depleted. Not being a fishmonger, I find this plenty for my needs. I do have a trolley as supplied by IceyTek for transporting to and from the boat which at my time of life is a god send. I also have a Coleman which I use for inshore trips which is fine for a day until the following morning but the quality is not as good and it is starting the break up. A little tip I use, put blobs of bath sealant mastic on the bottom of the boxes to stop them sliding around on the deck. Terry.
